So I just got the engine back in. It had blown a head gasket so I did a rebuild with new rings and bearings and gaskets. It runs well but if I drive it hard it likes to try and over heat. I have a large aluminum radiator and new water pump. I took the thermostat out and it still tries to over heat when driven hard. I am not seeing any oil in the coolant and no coolant in the oil. No smoke out the tailpipe. The only things I can think of is to change my timing and maybe a step colder plugs but I cannot really see this making the engine over heat with no thermostat in. Oil pressure seems to be fine, 25 at idle and around 75 at rev. I am kind of at a loss. I have no fan shroud but have an electric fan and the clutch fan installed also. Any help or suggestions would be great, thank you.

did you get the head shaved? Or at least get it checked?
