have a problem with a ka24e... replaced ignition system...cap, sparkplugs,wires..etc.... soldered new injector clips.... and new tps clip....

problem is that when the car sit and idles it will oscilate up and down from 1500 to 2000.. sometimes hittin 3k.... but back down... the engine never had a problem till last week fri... it ran perfect... i saw that injector clips were pretty worn out... cleared the ecu... so im thinking it might be some sensor thats causing an issue... its just that the ecu isnt kicking any codes...

gonna go for round 2.. its definetly alot better then it was before.. because it couldn't idle for shit and just died... gonna check the tps voltage and redo timing and play around with the idle screw...

if you guys have any idea what can be causing this let me know...

maybe some of the zilvia OG'z could shine some light...Russ...i hope ur up mister guru...

update... played around with it... unplug the maf while running..... it ran smooth...gonna replace the maf and see what happens after that..... =) its all getting better... still need input from the guru's

I had the same problem and cleaned the MAF as well as the IACV. It fixed my problem, maybe it'll fixed yours.

my friends sohc used to do this... the IACV is the thing controlling the idle, so taking it off and cleaning it out would be a good idea... and yea, cant lose cleaning the mafs out a little.

did all that.... ill play around with the iacv......that could be the culprit....mafs clean, switched maf... same shit....

Improper grounding of the MAF can cause that issue. If the wires are super old it can cause a grounding issue. Splice your ground wire and add an additional wire to ground out to the chassis.

personally i think that car is over grounded.... but ummm old harness i can agree on.... ill keep tinkering with it once i get a chance too..

no such thing as over grounded! :)

try unplugging your IACV... itll probly stall. so try to unplug it and turn your idle screw out a lot. ill bet it doesnt do the up and down thing with the iacv unplugged?
