S13 Blacktop Studders, Backfires, Running richer then a whore

I did a Sr20DET swap, got everything wired up and then was having problems with the MAF, so I purchased a z32 (n62) MAF and connected it, now the car will rev well over 2500 RPMs and spools boost the only issue I'm having is it runs like utter crap.

It spudders and bogs, then flames (backfire) will come out the exhaust leaving a wonderful rich smell in the air...


What could be causing this? If the ECU is in FailSafe mode, how can I get it out of the FAILSAFE?

The Z32 mafs, you need a way to control it. It's going crazy I tell ya!!!
Just swapping parts isn't the away to fix problems. What was wrong with the stock mafs? If it's toasted get a SOHC mafs!

Cotbu is correct you cannot just slapp on a Z32 maf and expect it to run properly you have to tune the ECU for the Z32 cuz the Z32 sends a differnt voltage signal than the Stock MAF

You need a rom-tune or atleast a SAFC to compensate for the Z-maf...
