I just purchased an sr harness that is a mess.

The harness is said to come from an s14 chassis, with s13 motor.

Is there a way to BE SURE of what harness i have before i start checking the wiring?

I THOUGHT my harness was an s13 silvia harness because it seems to have the correct number of pin locations. However, i became confused to see a wire in the pin 38 location. (second to left, top row). When looking up pin 38, there is NO WIRE NOTATED there...

EDIT- not sure if it helps, but there are TWO wires attatched to the pin 38 location...like they were for some sort of guage.

So, how do i identify which exactly i have?

Are you try to figure out if it's not an s13 sr harness? Pin 38 for s13 harness is ECCS power, so yes they could have tapped that wire for a gauge.

vtc solenoid plug?

I just want to know how to identify WHICH harness i have.

Are there special marks, numbers, or number of pins? I'm assuming a s13 harness CANT be used with a s14 ecu, or visaversa...right?

s14 has 76pins holes, s13 has 64 pinholes iirc. I forget
thats just something i noted, don't know how accurate that is though, I'll go count my pinholes
Yeah, 64pins for s13sr harness plug

If you want to swap out for a S13->S13SR harness, I'm actually about to repin mine to go in to my S14... if it is indeed a S14->S13SR harness, we should swap :)
