do you know if there will be an entrance fee or any fee for spectators?

GSXRJJordan
09-13-2007, 02:43 PM
yeah there will prob be like $10 fee for spectators... but then again if it's $175 for drivers, maybe that pays for entrance fees and a few beers for all the spectators :/

I'd like to come watch... so Brian you don't want a F-D license? You (and Aaron, and Chris, and a few others who are shall we say, 'skilled') could really put the 'Pro' in Pro Am.

Dousan_PG

I have an FD license and didn't use it this year. I still have a ton of fun driving at amateur events.

I'd love to do this event except I'm super broke right now and I pretty much already guaranteed myself a spot to nationals through JD.

I'm just going to nationals for fun and to see how I stack up against the rest of the country. Last year I got 4th. This year I hope to do even better. As for Formula D, I most likely won't do it next year just because I have a lot of other priorties nowadays but who knows. Things change.

GSXRJJordan
09-13-2007, 05:24 PM
... you guys are awesome. I'm pretty sure I'd go broke/lose my job/etc trying to compete for at least a year, like most people who 'turn pro'.

It's true that there's no money in it, unless you're at the very top.
Kind of a bummer, that the only people who can make the jump from am->pro are people that have trust funds/sponsored cars to drive/rich spouses/drug money/etc.

Dont you have a spot anyway since you were previously licensed?

Flybert
09-15-2007, 07:42 PM
Yeah, I think I do. I'm not sure how it's going to work though. I want to compete on saturday like last year and not have to wait until sunday. Technichally I've qualified to drive on saturday by going through the west coast amateur series but technichally I should only drive sunday as a 0 point pro.

I guess I should ask John Yim on the ziptied thread for some answers.

Yeah I want to drive too but dont think the new car will be ready so 2 years in a row I miss out. Oh well shoulda bought an s13 last year instead of wasting a year in a chassis I wasnt happy with.

I was told you needed a roll cage for this event? is this true? I dont feel like installing mine...im too lazy.

azndoc
09-19-2007, 01:35 AM
No roll cage needed for this event because there's no tandum.

It's individual runs only.

This gets you a spot for nationals where you do need a roll cage, driving suit, and driving shoes though.

Instead of a cage you should get a rebar for your front bumper... :mrmeph: :keke:

J/p. See ya there.

Super easy to get there Darius...

From Norcal:
5 all the way down
Exit Sand Canyon Road
Left at the off ramp onto Sand Canyon Road
Right after the underpass onto Marina
...follow the signs to the right after entering the gate

azndoc
09-19-2007, 02:43 PM
^^^ what Jay said.

Then just follow the AMCI signs to get to the actual location on the airfield.

Pat said megan's new driver in the Z (I din't know his name) won, and pat got second. Dunno about the rest though..

congrats to those guys :D

khmerguy618
09-23-2007, 12:54 PM
The Z was pretty doap. They didn't really have a podium type win. It was just points and who gets to go to NV in nov. Congrats to all the winners ya'll did great :D

It was an awesome event.

Unfortunately my car didn't make it pass it's 2nd practice. The injectors decided to crap out. I had to drive the car back to L.A. running on 2 cylinders.

Yeah, we were the dudes that took the red X-runner out. Hahahaha!

I think the winners were the Megan Z, OJ Corolla, and 3 KA-T's.

09-23-2007, 02:06 PM

khmerguy618
09-23-2007, 02:08 PM
don't forget darius Tii - white kouki s14, thomas red levin, and jeff red hatch from vex (one of the 2 alternates).

NORCAL!!!

Damn that sucks about your car, my clutch went to shit so i had to drive a car w/ no bumper back to norcal.

09-23-2007, 09:49 PM
No no tandeming the whole day..
It was more to \find people to go to the FD qualifier than it was a competiton

Im really glad i came down..i met alot of new people and had lots of fun

Weather was crappy as hell at times but it got nice and dry when the time was right

Thanks
