LOL

so i get this call from a person interested in my s14. ok se we talk about it and then he tells me that he had one before.

He said it had a skyline motor and i asked him which one, his reply was " the awd one "

ok...... He then said that he let his gf drive it and she crashed it.

Thats when i knew he was full of it, i then started asking him some simple questions and he didnt know shit.

I asked him if his car was a 2.6 inline 6 and didnt fucking know.

said he needs to ask his uncle.

OMG if I had a nickel for every customer that calls and says this

customer: yes I'm looking for an RB26
me: ok, which one?
customer: the RB26
me: ok, like I said which RB26
customer: the RB26 that comes with the skyline
me: ok ok, I'll stop messing with you dude, but you do realize that there's different years of the RB26 motor right?
customer: Uh...... no, I just want the RB26 motor swap.

Then I tell them the price and their usually like "ummm yeah I don't have that much right now, but I'll call you back in a couple of months."

Still haven't heard from any of them.

LOLz awesome.

It makes no sense why people feel the need to B.S. about stuff like that. Are people that insecure that they need acceptance from a stranger?

Its amazing how many civics/integra's i see that are "type R's" but whose hoods are broken and cant be popped......

well a lot of the american kids who grow up on bases in japan are exactly like that. you can pick up r32 gts-t's for < $1000. kids buy them just because they're skylines and know nothing about the motor. then they move to the states and tell everyone they had a skyline in japan :jerkit:

ha one thing ive been noticing lately...people fucking lie alot. since ive been in college and got out of my town and circle of friends I notice that a shit load of kids at my college just lie and stretch stories for no reason. maybe just to make conversation...maybe to sound cool idk. Ive caught my room mates telling stories about things i was there for and stretching them way beyond what happened....and these kids seem to lie when they really have no reason too. maybe the guy was just hoping youd think he was cool :ugh:

I love the Type R ones like stated above. Local guy around here has a Type R wing, front end and all badges. Swears up and down to me its a Type R. Told him he was missing a lug on all four corners. Looks down and says, nope, all four are on each corner. Thats when I calmy walk away in laughter.

(Type R's are 5 lug for those who didnt know.)

Beats of somebody telling me they have a Type-R and then following it up with "yah it had a B18/vtec swap in it." Im like huh? why would a Type-R need a B18/Vtec swap, it already got a B18 thats vtaaak.

Well in the states, they were 4 lug except for a couple of years (iirc 98-99). JDMs were all 5 lugs.

get this, i had some kid try to tell me he had an rb26 at home. When the car he drove that night was a grey hatch with 15x5 +90 offset wheels 4x4ing and sleepy eyes. I asked him a few questions and knew he was lying then he made himself look like a total dumbass in front of his girlfriend.

ME: what intercooler kit are you running on the rb26?
GUY: i'm still using the stock side mount, hopeing to upgrade.
ME: you realize the gtr's came with front mount's stock right, so your telling me you are using an aftermarket sidemount intercooler for your rb26.

You should've seen the expression on his face.

Some kid told me his dad just finished up his project.

Built SC'd 427 in a 67 Camaro.

and then he said when they gunned it they broke the motor mounts and the motor fell out.

But the motor wasn't damaged.

...???

Haha, theres this kid in my town, swore up and down he had an SR20 with a sidemount. Wouldnt let anyone see, b/c "I dont want my shit stolen yo!"

Crashed it trying to drift in the snow, needless to say it was a stock KA that showed itself under the hood when he opened it to check the damage. Yet he still SWEARS its an SR, and I dont know what I'm talking about.

I cant wait for him to order SR specific parts, b/c I honestly think thats what he believes he drives.

haha

i know a kid that drives a green eclipse just like the one from the fast and the furious. and he put two type r stickers on the side of it. and he swears its a real type r from japan. i dont even think the 95-99 eclipse was ever made in japan. but he thinks so even tho is is LHD.

s13rookie
05-08-2007, 10:29 AM
for even saying a "type r eclipse" he deserves to be ridiculed.i wonder if it is a 4g63-tech. I bet its fast though, he should race this kid down the street from me that has a SVT camry....

i get a kick out of it though, I once told a kid I had rust on my car as a form of weight reduction........im not sure if he knew i was screwing with him and i walked away

its not that great he says he runs 15psi with no tune on the car at all he has a safc and its not even hooked up. i dont see how the car is still running its got the almighty wing on it and it was once a GS or RS. eclipses are ok but i would buy a gsk not a gs or rs. he also cut a big hole right on the front of that hump that is on the driver side hood. he says it lets his turbo breath but i dont see how much ti can help with his airfilter right behind his radatior. dunno ud have to see him and what he thinks looks good on cars.

Do you mean an Eclipse GSX? Because, that's the only Eclipse I'd ever entertain the thought of owning. Or, a Talon Tsi. I'd much rather take the FTO over the Eclipse, tho...shame we never got it.

Yeah a couple years ago when I was out in japan I had to get in on this race, but my friend who owned a shop died and all his things were confiscated. We went back there trying to find anything to salvage. Low and behold there was a wrecked s14 in the back of the shop. We pooped the hood and there was an rb26dett in great condition. We pulled the motor and dropped into my mustang and proceeded to race wars.
