View Full Version : Another kill from my bone stock KA24E

I was showing my friend my car. We went by a local ricer hangout to see if anyone with half a brain on them was there. As it happened, the ricer meet was empty, but just as we were pulling out an eclipse gs with fart can and altezzas was leaving. He ran up by me, the typical ricer run... anyway, I slowly advanced to get next to him. I didn't want to show him what I had before we raced. We both caught eyes when we were next to eachother. Clutch in, shifter from 4 to 2, revs to 4500, we both dump. I then notice he's 6 car lengths behind me and struggling to catch up.
Now at the light he's looking mad and starts revving like he's gonna dump. Ok, I'll play, I rev to five and dump when it turns green, but he's decided he didn't want to race. So instead I slowed to speed limit and let him get by me. He waved the courtesy two fingers of submission and we went on our ways.
When I bought the 240, I expected to lose to practically any car on the road, especially modified. This is my second kill (other was a V6 accord w/fart can). What cars have you guys killed stock?

just a word of caution.......i would keep your kills on the down-low and not post them because most of the people on the board do not agree with street racing....people who post their kills usually end up getting flamed so i just wanted to let you know........

If it's a special kill, they don't get flamed, but beating a GS Eclipse is really nothing to brag about, so that will probably get a flame or two, but not from me. Stock 240s are not fast though, so don't start to get cocky.

Revved to 5 and then dumped the clutch??
shit man, i wouldnt be surprised if you weren't the one looking like a dumbass in this race. If you revved to 5,000 rpm and then dumped the clutch you wouldn't be going much of anywhere.
eclipse gs aren't exactly anything to brag about and you say you have beaten a v6 accord, i call bullshit on that one if your car is stock. It may have been a 4-banger accord. I believe a v6 accord 0-60 time is around 6.5, a stock 240's around 8.

yea..i was gonna say the same thing..5000!?..isnt that a lil too high? and plus u dump the clutch...i talked to BOMEX240sx and he said he revs to like 4100 and dumps the clutch..im thinking..dats hella high and all u do is burnout..and go nowhere....i mean..i rev to like 2000 and dump the clutch..and i still burn out...so yea
wazzup ppl..stock cars or near stock..how do u do a good launch?..wat rpm do u rev too..and dump/slip the clutch?

My best launches are done w/o me paying attention to anything else but the launch and the car. I don't look at the tach when I'm launching, but I know it's not a very high RPM, it's a small chirp and I'm off!!! If I had to say, it's probably about 2200 RPMs or so, but again, I don't look at the tach, so I could be wayy off.

I'll make some videos if I have to. When I rev to five and dump I peel for about a second before I get good traction by my guess. And the race with the v6 accord, well, that was neck and neck, I was *barely* pulling on the dude.

so ur saying a v6 accord runs 6.5 0-60.... hahah i laugh at ur antics anyhow... thats almost as fast or even faster than an rsx type s...wheres the logic in that...i give the accord v6- around 7.8sec 0-60mph (if that) ... if u dont believe me check car and driver.
yeah and about launching... ive launched at 4500 rpm before but i spin for a sec...and the car goes...im not sure if im equipped with lsd or not...i hav a 97 LE... with leather and SE package 5sp. i say the best launch i had wuz around 3500-4000 slipping till the car inches then dropping.

Honestly, I don't know how you guys do it, if I rev reletively high and dump the clutch, I spin for ages and ages...

i feel ya..i mean..i dump at 4-5k..im there forever..might as well give up..i mean..i dump at 2k and im there for at least a sec or two..i dunno y some ppl thinking burning out during a race is good..yes i talked to ppl saying its good...i did a chirp once for a launch..and dat was it..every other time was a burnout.....but i can chirp on 2nd so dats good

Yup, just like DriftMonkey said, I would not post kills unless it's power is among the lines of 200+ horsepower. I don't mind reading it, it's all fun to read and all, but beware of some of the more a$$hole members like eh hem, "camppain". I posted about beating a 2.5 RS Subaru Impreza with an exhaust and got flamed by him and a couple other guys. I mean it's just a story, but I guess nobody wants to hear about it unless it's something big. The thing is they could have let me know in a respectful matter, but sad to say, they didn't. Just letting you know from my experience. Oh yeah, not to diss "camppain" or anything cuz I know he knows a lot, but he didn't really know anything about drifting and he was trying to diss me about my screen name and how I just bought a 240 cuz I thought drifting was cool and in. Not to say I'm the master of drift but it's funny how people who aren't into drift flame the people who are, expecially if you're a newbie. Anyways, just another warning from your friendly zilvia member.... or should I say newbie since we go by posts number here.
Cliff Notes:
Don't post a kill unless it is something big and don't post something among the lines of "bought a 240sx to drift".

If you kill something in your new car and you are happy about it. Why should you not share your happiness? IF you have some problem with street racing Don't read Kill stories. Lets keep the 240 enviroment a more positive one. aight?

I posted about beating a 2.5 RS Subaru Impreza with an exhaust and got flamed by him and a couple other guys. I mean it's just a story, but I guess nobody wants to hear about it unless it's something big. The thing is they could have let me know in a respectful matter, but sad to say, they didn't. Just letting you know from my experience. Oh yeah, not to diss "camppain" or anything cuz I know he knows a lot, but he didn't really know anything about drifting and he was trying to diss me about my screen name and how I just bought a 240 cuz I thought drifting was cool and in. Well to clear up the accord issue a v6 accord at least the newer ones have 200hp stock witha vtec motor along witht the 4 banger but the four banger has 150 with a vtec.I am seriously doubting any type of victory on a v6 accord unless the driver was one not racing or two missed a gear.My mom has a 2002 accord 4 banger and that thing is freaking quick i have victory on it about 8 times. But i also have a injen cai.But it still runs very well.i hate it when that thing starts to wine"sp".But street racing is not a very big deal to alot of peps on this board dont get me wrong i love to do street racing but i dont do it much anymore cus it is way to unsafe.Plus a gs is a slow piece of shit. But i say no way to the v6 accord.

most v6 accords are automatics... and the 5spd v6 runs mid and high 15s... so what do you mean a 240 couldnt beat one? some people suck at racing u know, or it was just an auto..
stock 240sx - high 15s/low 16s
stock accord - mid 15s/high 15s
edit: the best time you can prolly get out of a v6 accord 5spd is around a 15.5/15.6 and thats with perfect driver and perfect temp...
and stop bugging the kid he assumed his car was going to get beat all the time and its not. yes stock 240sx are slow but most other 4 cyl cars with 2 doors are slower... so stfu

To explain what dumping the clutch is, first I need to explain what feathering the clutch is.
Feathering the clutch is basically when you release the clutch slowly and gradually, it's done for maximum smoothness during acceleration. Basically it's the way most people drive to and from work and to get places (everyday driving).
Dumping the clutch is the opposite of that, you release the clutch (I say release because I ride motorcycles and it's just habit) rapidly, there is absolutely no feathering, you just get on the throttle and go. I suck at explaining things w/o showing people.
As for the gear they are in, they said they started from a stop, so they are in 1st gear, and everyone gave different RPM numbers, so just go back and read those. What works for them might not work for you though, so I suggest getting a feel for your car because I know that if I were to dump the clutch at what was it 4 or 5K RPMs, my wheels would turn....but I'd stay still.

I killed a possum last week. Ran him over and it made all kinds of noise as he went under the car bouncing of shit. I stopped and went back to make sure it was an actual kill, and it was.
He was deader than shit! I would have swerved to miss him but there was the ditch he came out of on one side and a BIG truck coming the other way so it was either him or me, he lost.
I'm pretty sure I could kill another if the timing was just right.

Freaking hilarious...I actually could of had a kill on one last night, but he looked like a ricer, so I swearved and didn't waste my time (I'm talking about a possum).
As for the kill story...big deal...congrats on the win, but come back when you get a gst or gsx.
As for the clutch dump...I do a clutch slip from 3100 rpm's for my launches, and I don't spend hardly anytime spinning, if any.
I have a 97 240sx se with vlsd, and 5spd.

All V-6 Accords are auto, even the ones that are coming next year will have a V-6 auto, they said that they might finally make the V-6 stick. But as for now they are all auto.
Chances of you beating a V-6 Accord are very slim.
Anyway about someone who said that we should just ignore kill stories, well if we don't bitch and complain and flame, then they will sprout all over the board and all the good topics will be pushed away. We have a lot of members here and if everyone shared thier race stories we would have half of page 1 filled with races, then we would get people that almost one start telling stories and such.

I think that everyone should be able to post their kills in here, whether they are claiming a kill on a cheap ass tampon of a Civic or an all out beast like a Viper. It doesn't matter what kill you post anyone could call out bs, because anything is possible in a race, it all comes down to the best car and driver combination. Put an experienced driver in a SR powered 240 versus an unexperienced driver in a Twin Turbo Supra and my money would go on the experienced driver. SPEED means nothing if you don't know how to use it.
And don't worry about the "senior" members in here. Unless you are a Professional driver, you have no business flaming anyone for a racing kill. Show them the same respect that you would someone saying they beat a Viper or something (that could be bullshit too you know) A lot of people in here talk a lot of shit, I am going to start asking for credentials...
As for the author of this post, congratulations on the experience, hopefully it will encourage you to modify your 240 and get more experience, then you will have what you need to survive on the streets and on the track.

Refer to the above post. He put it best about not wanting the whole racing stories unless it is something worthy...like a viper being taken by a four banger turbo...that's damn worthy of posting.
As for taking out a gs eclipse...big deal (I've said it once, I'll say it again). Everyone in here with a 240 has kills on civic this, teg that, dsm this...make it more worthy like a type r, or gsx, or a z28. Nobody wants to hear about you drifting your car, or beating the punkass one lane over with a ricey *insert whatever* p.o.s.
As for not respecting the "senior" members here...why don't you go find another forum dick weed. Nine out of ten senior members know more about every nook and cranny of the 240's and usually can give tricks to any install...That's damn worthy of repecting jerkoff.

There are plenty of kill forums in the world where you kids can go play. This forum, last I checked, is dedicated to the 240sx - not furthering kill stories and street racing. To come on here and brag about killing a secretary's special is tantamount to begging to start yet another pointless fight.
1. street racing is dangerous
2. street racing is illegal
3. street racing raises insurance rates and causes cancellations
4. street racing makes people ticket targets (see, ricer profiling)
5. street racing is unverifiable
6. street racing takes no skill we can't teach a chimp (simple sequence - shift at redline, repeat)
7. street racing can get you into a jail cell or hospital bed
8. street racing doesn't prove you can beat anything (but morons with less talent than a chimp or those in slower cars)
9. street racing won't impress anyone but those w/ less talent
10. street racing doesn't allow you to gauge your skills against others like a timed competition

good kill GS and RS eclipses r fun 2 play with, especially when the driver of them thinks that they r fast. it's always fun 2 humiliate them. As for the V-6 good kill on that one 2. GSU240 must not know 2 much about the V-6 accord. times don't matter as much as weight, the V-6 accord is insanely heavy and no prob for a 240 2 beat (a 91-97 that is) the SOHC might not do as well. i just beat the crap out of a 6 accord with my stock 92 240 the other day. it was sad. unless the car is boosting , spraying, or is a descent v8 chances are that you will beat them in the 240. good luck. keep putting those hondas in their place, in your rear view mirror.

i think all of your guys's 240s have the ability to run a mid to low 15 stock, not this 16 second crap, you just need to learn how to harness this power

Ok, i'd like to touch base on most topics covered here in this post:
-my friend hit a cat at about 75mph on the highway in front of me. i still have nightmares about the way that thing spun/exploded on impact.
-Accord V6 was never available standard, we just got done buying an accord and the dealer was bitching about wishing they had made one.
-Eclipse RS/GS puts down about 135hp, or the same as a escort zx2/older 4cyl accord/other non-powerful vehicle. now, the 1g dsm's base base model was a 1.8L sohc 4cyl with 95hp, that sucks. i drove a gs eclipse that belonged to my prom date (nothing better at the time), it was garbage. i downshifted to pass someone on a straight stretch and nothing....waste of time if you want to go, too heavy to utilize so little HP.
-If someone wants to race and post, let em. as long as its not total bs (ie. my friend telling people we beat a mustang gt in his escort zx2 just cause we accelerated faster than him in the passing lane is BS) however, it does make sense to only post noteworthy/eventful races, preferrably legal. if you want to get credit though, hit up open street race night at your local track. mine is $25 for all night bracket racing, with slips that can verify your story unlike saying "yo i swearz i whoopt him, he WAS trying i knows it". get real kids

i had 2 guys in a FORD FOCUS muahahah pull up and start reving with their huge 4 inch tip on their exhaust, ricer graphics and STOCK painted yellow rims, i dont even consider this a kill it was just so funny that they actaully had balls to race. and i dont have nothing else done except AEM ram air and eibachs.
wooped a mx6 last night. coudnt see who was driving (had like a 10% tint) but it took me 3 stoplights to make him race, still he lost although we got up to a 100 mph in a 45 mile zone.... whats not even funny is that i actually freaked out when my brakes faded and i almost drifted trough a red light :) i was just lucky lol

Street racing ain't the smartest thing to do. As most people are saying, it usually makes people look stupid and puts people at risk. The dumbest (and possilby funniest) thing I did was "race" my friend from a bar home, and no we weren't drinking (I'm not THAT stupid). It was funny becuase my everyday driver is a 95 Subaru Legacy LS and his was a 96 Ford Tore-ass. We actually both got up over 100mph through the middle of town. We still joke about it to this day.
Seriously though, I can say that I will NEVER do anything like that again. Fun to do, but stupid in the end.
