I bought a set of Work wheels from this guy.
I am not pleased.


The wheels were listed as 17x9.5 +17.
This is a size I was very interested in, so I decided to buy them.
When they showed up, I looked at the size. 17x9 +16
The size is stamped into the back of the wheel. Not too hard to figure it out.
Strike one.

The wheels were supposed to have tires on them. Used tires, but I could still use them if I wanted. Ok cool.
When the wheels arrive, one of the tires has a nail it it. Ok crap. I'll just throw them away. Nothing was mentioned about this.
Strike two

The post said that the wheels were dirty. ok cool that is understandable. I specifically asked if there was anything I should know about the wheels that was important. The response I got was that I just need to clean them. again, cool. I can do that.
When I get the wheels I notice that they need a LOT more than cleaning. The lips were curbed and rashed (which is oka ywith me because he said they were rashed.) However, I discover that 2 wheels have silver finish and 2 seem to have the finish stripped off of them. This was not told to me. Also, The wheels with the silver finish have really bad paint peeling, cracking, missing, etc. Again this was not told to me. This kind of stuff would have been REALLY good to know before I sent out a lot of money for them.
Strike three.
I PMed him after this explaining that I was disappointed with what I received. I honestly would not have bought these wheels had I known the condition they were in...and especially that they were NOT THE SIZES LISTED.

I'm going to have to get these wheels refinished now so that they look somewhat okay. Paint literally flakes off the wheels when I tough them. That is pretty bad.

I would have liked some kind of help after I found all these problems. But of course. I get the cold shoulder on it.
I would not recommend buying from this guy.
I certainly won't.
I don't like buying parts that are completly different than what is listed.

I did not buy anything from him, however, I was able to look at the wheels in person.

I saw the seller's original post, and it was very deceiving in comparison to what I saw in person when looking at Brian's wheels. Far from the "it's just dirty" claim.

The fact that the seller did nothing to alleviate the situation in terms of compensation or making the situation right is very indicative of his ethics.

If the wheels were in such bad condition, don't try to lie about it, just be honest. What do you expect? Maybe the buyer wouldn't notice?

Brian outlined the points very well, and its sad that someone could misrepresent so badly and do something like this to one of our valued members of Zilvia.

The seller should make good on the situation and compensate Brian. Pay him the cost of refinishing, or credit him back for shipping, etc. The cold shoulder is not good for karma.

I know TONS of people that have bought cars off of him and his former business partner and have NEVER heard of an issue between either of them...

Shipping and stuff was all done quickly and well. no complaints there.

It's just... I bought something completly different than was listed.

All I want out of this is a LITTLE help. I am paying to have them fixed at the moment. I would be happy if he would offer to just help with some of this cost.

The fact that this guy is a police officer makes him even more despicable for deceiving you like this. This is absolutely insane.

Some of you guys have to know this guy, help brian out! If you are his friend talk to him and have him take responsiblity.

Brian is not just another 240 owner, he is a very contributing and long member in the 240 scene.

I was able to hook him up with a good wheel repair place, but the fact that the seller chooses to hide and not man up and take responsiblity is very disappointing. Brian shouldn't have even needed to repair these in the first place, according to the seller's "claims" on wheel condition.

We need to make the scene BETTER, not degrade it. Spread positive energy and good karma, none of this kinda stuff needs to happen! Do unto others and you would want done to yourself!

Kudos to Brian for taking the higher road and being mature. Most people would be beyond angry in this situation.

This has been linked to a few of the other forums he posts on... otherwise a few of us run into him occasionally. From what I hear he's usually pretty good about his sales, but hes definatly only into 240's due to the money.

Damn Brian, this sucks, this was posted on one of the local board I am on alot, so hopefully he will see it there. I have had my share of shady people selling me shit lately, it really sucks, I hope you get this worked out.
