When turning tire catches.

So ive been noticing when i lock out in full angle my front tires catch on the pinch welds.

But i have already beat the shi* out of them with a hammer, pretty much as flat as i can get them, they arent catching on the top pinch, its the inner pinch.
I am running meagan coils, s14 jic tie rods with s13 kazamma outters, spl tension rods.
I only have a 215-60-17 on a 17x8.
How are you slammed guys using super angle kits and not catching?

I found this thread but it didnt help to the point of what i am looking for.

why such a large sidewall?

get 215 40 or 215 45 that should help.

also could depend on the offset of your wheels.

search for a thread i made a while back, had some pretty decent info with pictures and shit in the thread.

You have an offroad tire on your car and you wonder why it rubs?

215/60 is fucking huge. Get a lower profile.

who would even sell you 60 series? wtf!

Like these guys said above. Try a 40 or 45 series and if you run lower offsets it will effectively bring the wheel further from that pinch... its science.

This problem is well known, especially on the US passenger side. You need to cut out that portion of the metal.

I'd get you pix if I weren't so lazy.

Yep!!!! S13 OEM tires(205/60R15) are about 24.7" tall, yours(215/60R17) are 27.2" tall putting them about 1.25" closer to the pinch weld!! Those are like late 80's small truck size tires!

First get a lower profile tire, I agree with the 40 or 45 aspect ratio mentioned above (215/45 would put you at about the same diameter as an OEM tire). Then see if you have the same problem.

On my S13 i'm running 245/35 on 18x8.5+20 up front without any clearance problems.

Thanks everyone. I'll pick up a smaller sidewall tire at work tomorrow.

And i thought 50's where huge.... hay if those smaller sidewalls dont do the trick, you may need to space your wheels out, i had the same problem before i put my spacers on.
