Awesome race, watched it last night and then picked up the end again this afternoon.
This season is going to be exciting for the most part the rule changes worked out quite well. Expect more cars to be using rear diffusers for down force. Only thing I can see being a potential problem, is the front wings between extending out so far and not being visible to the driver.

lewis hamilton disqualified and truli back to 3rd
they basically lied somewhat when under questioning, and where as lewis told speedtv before all that something different than what he told the officials, so they caught on to that and investigated. http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2009/04/0...an-grand-prix/ Formula One news: McLaren disqualified from Australian Grand Prix - GPUpdate.net Formula One

Lewis getting DQed is BS.
I seriously doubt he was trying to keep something from them. Why would he lie when the radio is available publicly? Word of the day is, "semantics".

Practice is on tonight on speed in a few hours for Malaysia..
Maybe a Mod can edit the title of this thread to Formula 1 2009 season I do think the disqualification was unfair, just give Truli his place back and act like it never happened, *since it was the stewards who gave Hami the 3rd spot in the first place

i think the story from the FIA is that the stewards asked him straight out what happened, and he gave a shady answer. while it's true that the radio transmissions are public, i think the thing the FIA doesn't like is that the stewards probably didn't look at the radio transmissions because they took hamilton's word that he didn't/wansn't told to let trulli by and then proceeded to disqualify trulli, who didn't do anything wrong according to the rules (you can pass under yellow if it appears that the car in front has a problem, which the slowing of hamilton could be construed as). i dunno. the way this whole situation was handled was pretty poor, but what else do you expect from the FIA? if it's not one debacle, i.e. stepneygate, diffuser row, '08 belgian gp, etc, it's something else.

yeah, well right after the race he told what happened to the media, and than when asked by the stewards him and the team boss said something else.

well you gotta admit, the racing itself is spectacular this season. The after race stewards decisions and everyone crying wolf @ the brawn, toyota and williams diffusers is pretty wack.
BMW just protested against them this weekend and it was dismissed, yet april 14th i think will be when the FIA sits down to investigate the diffusers. Which is retarded imo cuz whatever results could affect Brawn GPs win. But I guess the teams who where challenging those diffusers just want to avoid having to spend millions trying to come up with a similar diffuser in short time. I think Bob Varsha was saying that it would cost Mclaren about 30mil to come up with one or something

see there one thing i don't get with diffuser things is that how are you going to allow something now then later on , maybe, not allow it and remove points from that team?

thats the crazy ass politics of F1!!! like hamilton and mclaren getting robbed by the stewards after the race has been finished and no warnings where said during the real time of the race..

looks like Webber was trying to convince the other drivers to call it off with him.
Sucks, hell Webber was putting up a fight too! great driving i think Hami wants to race tho, he wants to try to make up as much points as he can

button and hamilton are still in their cars, and from what it looked like someone was warming up their engine.
the rain is starting to get lighter.
