1995 S14 VQ35DE Swap

I had a 04 G35 coupe that i had an extra engine for that is no more then i was left with a VQ35DE and a lot of parts that would not fit the 2010 Mustang GT so I bought a car to go with my engine.

I bought 1995 240SX automatic but it only had 73,xxx miles got it from a little old lady. no ready little old lady.

this how I got it

first this new rims

Rear sub frame bushing where shot so did Next

cleared and smoked hazzy headlights

painted new fender to match will change color off car but did not want a wrecked fender or a green one

My VQ35DE swap parts

clutch peddel since my car is an automatic

Most swaps i have seen use a new shifter braket i cut and welded the old one shifts fine setting on the table I will see if it works in the car and post a fallow up answer

block cleaned and painted

ACL Race bearings installed

ARP Head and Main Studs

Cleaned Pistions with a cheap Harbor Fright ultra sonic cleaner and purple degreaser used new OEM rings

Getting every thing out of the engine bay and ready for paint

Relay box back wiring is long then the car its self

Seler

Base coat

Clear coat color is black Cherry effect

and this is where i sit will post more as i get it done

well i am real sorry my post is not living up to your dreams and expectations
this is my first post and i was(and still am) having a hard time using the site the forum i use the most has a page for "project cars" i did not see that so i guessed. Maybe when i am 22 years old and all grown up i can know everything and criticize everyone just like you. Oh and yes you have not seen my car in the new Jay Z video you should check it out it is full of old POS's with blacked out head lights becouse that is the only place you will see that no one else in the world would do that...thanks

Only half those pics were up earlier. I clicked expecting to see a vq swap and saw an s14 with black headlights. Goodluck with the swap, I've heard the wiring is intense for these.

more

I have been getting parts in i Got my heads back

this plate on the rear timing cover the gasket was jacked up so I pulled it off
and this i look in the FSM and it says not to remove it i could not find a gasket so i had to make one useing a sheet of gasket maker from autozone i put the plate on the sheet and traced the out side and bolt holes used a paper hole punch for the bolt holes (thank god that was the right size for the holes) then i put it on and hit it with a rubber hammer witch gave me an outline to cut out the inside

Axis halo 18x8.5 and 18x9.5

i bought a box of 350Z bolts from Nissan unlimited in Houston 832-467-4400
they have an Ebay store they sell used late model Nissan and infiniti parts for a good price.. the box had Flywheel and bellhousing bolts that i needed and i paid less for 25ibs of bolts then nissan wanted for 8 new flywheel bolts
i got my Accel plug from em too

my car was an Automatic i pulled this cut out in the insulation out and the punch marks where there i drilled the bolt holes out and got a 1 3/4 hole cut out tool at lowes it was made for wood but worked well

Steering rack bushings

I ordered lot of other stuff.. i did order the mckenney mount kit i will post how that goes i know other have had problems with fitment

i have started the wiring i will do a wright up on it when i get done and the car starts

i am finally getting to the swap part of the swap

Yeah I had seen you post on the dudes thread. i do beleave you are right, they test fit it on a S13 half cut then decided that it would fit a S14 as well. I am not that mad about it. It is call modifying some times you just have to mod. more than planned just wish that they would tell you these things and admit that the mounts dont fit the S14 as well.*

*S14 owners may have to mod. there firewall.....see how hard was that

good idea but it would push the engine back more with the mounts i have

like rik boellen i mod the firewall and the intake clears i had to bend the brake hard lines to rerount them. but i am back on track. i have every thing to make it start (i hope) so this weekend i hope to fire it up for the first time

Looking awesome! I like the red and black theme you have with the engine. The smoked headlights looked awful with the original paing, but will look sick with your black cherry paint.

I had the same TB clearence issue on my firewall. nothing a hammer couldn't fix

and sexcii, I did the revup swap. it was just as easy. the only thing I have noticed from the wiring stand point is the two additional sensors on the back of the heads. instead of two, there is now four.

S14... I'm also gonna be figuring out the wiring based on that one writeup and hopefully improving it for others. Also I'm hoping to flash ecu myself with Osiris. Was gonna do mounts myself and resell some, but 210 bucks ain't bad.

I'm thinking they are exact copies of mcminney.
