RB25 finally in the engine bay (pics)
pics
My RB25det is finally installed in the engine bay, still working on I/C plumbing and wiring, the clearances you see are via Mckinney motormounts, I do not recommend using the R33 crossmember and mounts like you may have read in various places, using custom mounts gives you good positioning and clearance, no sway bar issues, shifter issues or hood clearance problems.

With some help from Accelerated Concepts in FL, Russ, and Jon (PlanB), I have been working on the wiring, almost have it all figured out, will start putting the harness together tomorrow, waiting on I/C piping and some more custom work. I am shooting for the end of the month.
CA: yeah its at EP, if you are talking about putting a pulley on your z32 that will take a LOT of persuading.

looks awesome, are you using the stock intake manifold, the aftermarket FMIC greddy one, or are you just gonna make your own FMIC one from sheetmetal?
ca18guy, whose bitch is that draped over the car in your avatar? cause I'd hit that! |

I am having a custom intake plenum fabricated to bolt onto the lower half of the manifold. I have a NPR front mount intercooler and having the endtanks modified to go straight out to make piping cleaner.

Coastek: Yeah the shop is about 30 min from Greenville, in Goldsboro, NC
Steeles: I ended up using the RB20 tranny hopefully its going to hold up for a while, BTW, whats up with your car you selling it or what? Chimp: yeah you need to stop by, I am actually in Charlotte a lot so that has hindered progress on the car, but I need to get back to Goldsboro soon to work on it. Not too much left to do, just some adjustments and fittings need to be made on the intake manifold and then a little more wiring and running hoses and vac lines and I will attempt to crank it up.

The intake manifold was custom made by a guy in FL. I just painted it black. We are working on a plenum that will just bolt onto the lower half for ease of installation. The flange has been made but other issues are being worked out.
On another note, the car cranked last night, need to tie up a few loose ends and plumb the IACV as it will not run for long with the vac leak. Sounded so mean, I was very impressed, the low rumble sounds so hot through the Blitz Nur Spec.
