clutch, timing, and fail?
Red top sr20det. While wrestling flywheel bolts, the engine was rotated several times. Both clockwise and counter clockwise. Have I made a mess of engine or ignition timing?
Car drove fine after install for 700-ish miles. Now that the clutch is broken in I decide to boost! Finally! Car decided otherwise. Bogged down horribly. No miss firing, no bucking, no popping, turbo spooled, car just wouldnt accelerate. Even slowed. Now any closer to boost then 5 in hg and it bogs. Baby it, drives fine, idles fine. Weird! Couldn't be timing must.be fuel related?! If anyone has ever started a weed eater cold and had it bog when trying to make it accelerate. In essence thats what she does. I have 1; checked codes. 55 ugh. No help. 2; Tps ohm, resistance, voltage, are spot freaking on! Yes! 3; Replaced fuel fiter. 4; got lazy, searched the f out of zilvia, then decided to post. |

If you can fully rev when on very partial throttle, chances are the fuel pump is not working correctly.
If you timing is way retarded, you should get very high exhaust gases and a glowing red turbo (but you'd build boost) |

Shouldn't be cam timing....if it was then it would idle like shit
If it happened after u put the clutch it...I would look at all the components u touch during install |

Sounds like dead fuel pump to me...only because that's what mine sounded like 2 days ago and after i replaced it everything was good.
Rotating CW/CCW isn't going to hurt it, even with no tensioner there isn't enough slack in that timing chain to jump teeth (unless it's literally ready to be replaced) and like JDM said, it'd run terrible if your cam timing was off. Can you hear the pump prime? |

I am leaning toward the fuel pump. Although I attacked it with my multi meter and it checked.out ok. I cannot test it while the problem is actually happening. It's a 5 year old walboro. Often run near empty. Probably toast. I should replace the stock fpr as well however I dont like fixing things that arent broken. I prefer staying as o.e.m as possible. Suppose I should probably check pressure with a gauge of some sort.

Clutch and trans function flawlessly. Only had to gut, mangle, dissect, and go mad scientist on 4 transmissions. 1 single cam. Three sr20. Was a mess but I now have intimate knowledge of s chassis transmissions, and a plethora of parts for them. if anyone needs help with a trans related part or problem. I can help!
