electrical noob with questions

Hello all. i have a 97 240sx. i been wanting to do 2 kill switch projects lately and i just wanted to say.... i am HORRIBLE with electricals.

just last night i unplugged the ECU just to check out the wires and it's placements. i plugged it back in and this morning i tried to start the car and it wont start!!! it cranks and everything but it feels like the engine isnt getting gas. what do i do!?!?!?

also i wanted to do a fuel pump and ignition kill switch but i dont no which wires to cut, what gauge to connect it with, and what amp switch i would need. also I've read it is good to have a relay. i havent looked into that yet so im not sure what that is or if that is necessary.

last question i have is, i DONT want to cut wires. can i just pull the wire out of the connector? is that possible? i would probably have to put a pin in the new wire but i wouldnt mind the extra work.

any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been searching forums for days and didnt find anything useful. i know... i suck at searching. everything i've come across didnt explain well enough for me, most ppl just said, "i cant tell you cause it's not smart to give out your secrets." im not asking where your hidden switch is, just some simple how to's.

thank you
