Pulling out welded diff?

This might sound stupid but I was wondering if I can remove my welded diff and replace it with a 1.5 way LSD in the future without having to get a new pumpkin. I didn't install my welded diff so I'm not sure how it works. I just wasn't sure if after welding it that the LSD is permanently stuck in the pumpkin?

No, welding an differential only welds the gears near the center together or something. not any shafts or axles. im pretty sure the 1.5/2 way lsd is a drop in kit. i swapped my open out for a vlsd and its not so difficult.

Thanks guys. Looks like I'll be upgrading in the near future. I'm tired of this welded diff.
