Mia, my 180sx
Mia, yes its named after mia in fast and furious.
Names constantine, i'm from northern virginia, and i'm pretty excited to be apart of the s-chassis community with my 180. I own another ricebox as well So let me get started... Picked it up from japanese classics with some god awful work ls305's & replica everything (but who really cares because it looks beautiful) Got it with 23k miles on the motor (CA18DET) in flawless condition. But it has a hicas First picture (fucking ugly ass wheels) First thing i did when i got it, bought some battles for a temp look and threw on some tein super drift coil overs i had from a drift beater. Had to do a 5lug conversion, probably the most complicated process ever because it has abs brakes and it wouldn't fit abs rotors so i spaced out the caliper bracket with a washer and put non-abs rotors with it. Also found out the pads for the front brakes are 88 sentra wagon brake pads. (what the fuck?) took me a week to figure that out. then i went on a shopping spree.... ordered the VIS D-max hood, isis pro series suspension package, version select 326 power wing, a new nardi steering wheel, some ebay tail lights, and some blitz 03's. and it all started... Specs for everyone: 18x10 -20 (6inch lips), 18x12 -20 (7inch lips) Took the car apart, shaved down the over fender inner lip, tucked wiring harness, did everything really necessary for the to be really low. Threw on all the suspension parts, drilled out the holes for the 326 power wing, mounted the hood and fit the wheels, all within a week. took it out to get an alignment and i'm running about -10 up front, and -5.5 in the rear. (That's not me in the picture, buddy of mine.) Drives pretty good, had a little steering wheel shake but i just got to get the front wheels balanced. After a couple days of thinking i finally decided whether to paint the hood and wing... or go for my dream color. Set up an appointment with maaco (Yes they have a really bad reputation, my local one is actually pretty impressive with their work and i've never had a bad experience with them.) So i stripped the car down and dropped it off last weekend for the new paint color. Oh and for people curious to know what color i'm doing.. Gtr LP2 Midnight purple. Work LS305's are for sale as well as the MB Battles if anyones interested. I'm looking to trade my kakimoto exhaust as well & i'm on the hunt looking for a CA18DET Downpipe if anyone would like to help. |

Off to a good start my friend. Don't really care for the step lip on the blitz, but it still works out and looks good. I would suggest keeping the CA18det since it is such low mileage and from the bay picture looks to be in mint shape. People down them but they have plenty of potential. Just make sure you run a proper PCV setup haha.
You're going to have a hard time finding a CA18det downpipe. I would advise just upgrading to a sr20 aftermarket 3in turbo elbow, and then just buy aftermarket 3 in SR downpipe. this will help with the flow and give it a little more power and better response, and you won't have to wait forever to find the CA specific downpipe man. |

If you're keeping the CA, I would suggest buyee.jp or if you know someone in Japan to help you get parts. CA downpipes are extremely hard to come by unless you buy the $80 one off eBay (I wouldn't advise)... you can use an SR downpipe with an SR elbow. Works better as there are more available as well.
Car looks good man, got my Silvia from JC as well. |

Yeah i know, im hoping for the best out of it. Familys been going there for a couple years and the employees at that location have shown nothing but great work. I'm a pretty picky person so if i didnt think it was worth it i wouldnt have done it in the first place. Appreciate it though!

If things don't work out with Maaco, try http://www.mrspoiler.com/ for a quality paint job. They're not too far from Chantilly. You can see the prep work/final paint on my old build thread:

I just dropped my new s14 beater off to be sprayed LP2 this week . I was also hoping to have the only local car that color but I guess its going to be a common color in the area now haha.
Cars looking good man, hope to see you out at some more events with the old coupe this season! |

I love your car! Really really nice! Black + chrome is one of the best colors for S13 in my opinion!
