Google's next project into social media looks very interesting. It's very much like Facebook, but with some nice additions and integration to gchat. It's currently invite only, but I wanted to know if anyone actually got a chance to try it out.

I'm extremely excited to send invites out to friends and family as soon as it launches publicly.
As of right now it's in a field trial and only available to a small number of external people. I actually had a really great use case for Circles recently and wished that I could use my personal account. I went to Vegas and had a bunch of photos I only wanted to share with certain people. If I had the ability to create a circle and limit the privacy of that album, I would have been a happy camper. I had to manually select all 20-30 people and give them access to the album though. Kind of a pain in the ass.

Daniel - I know you can't comment too much on Google products, but is it safe to say that once this goes public, ads will be featured in similar fashion to how they are displayed in gmail?

My personal opinion is that Google's revenues are mostly derived from ads so it wouldn't make much business sense NOT to sell ads, especially with the ability to tailor them even more specifically to users with all of this new info from their social graph.

Actually there's a trick to invites... if you "Share" something to someone via email, it will have a link to "Try Google+".

I want. [email protected] if anyone has any spare invites.
ATM, I still think the testing capacity is capped, so even invites aren't getting in. |

Yea I heard invites have been shut down.
I just hope Google doesn't keep the user base limited for an extend period of time. People might lose interest or the buzz might fizzle (think Google Wave).

@Daniel - I like the current direction Google is heading in. They've spread themselves into some interesting integration. I've been really liking the +1 integration they're doing. As for Google+, its tough to say, because for me, I haven't been able to use it. I do like the idea of micromanaging friends/"friends" on social sites though. It allows me to be a dick, while not fully publicly stating that I dislike the person.

im at work right now so I can't send them yet I'll get to it when I'm out...
but I was sent an invite when they capped the limits, the next day I kept refreshing the page and randomly it let me sign up. more then likely you'll get the invite but you'll have to wait till they re open the sign ups. |

Daniel - I know this is way off topic, but how the heck can I remove music from Google Music without closing my beta trial?
