First of all, YES this will bring first exposure to MANY people... Ask 20 people about drifting...only 10 will know what it is.
And to you jackasses that say the movie is just a movie, and doesnt affect anything... BULL FUCKING SHIT. I always used to go to the street races here in san diego BEFORE the movie came out. On a "GOOD" night, there would be 20 cars, and 30 on a CRAZY night. We would run ALL NIGHT untill everyone ran who they wanted, got bored, and went home. AFTER the movie came out(literally the week after, no bullshit) there was nearly 100-150 cars out looking for races nightly. I remember both sides of kearny villa road being PACKED with a few racers, and the rest in minivans, trucks, and gay cars... THATS when all the dangerous shit started happening. When it was 20 cars a night, we could keep it safe.... But once you get 300 stupid drunk fucks looking for races, walking in the road, pulling out in front of people, shit happens, and negative publicity happens...hence the HUGE crackdown on racing.... If you think the same thing ISNT going to happen to drifting...your nuts. The only reason i dont care, is because i'm selling all but one of my drifters, and cashing the fuck out. |

STREET RACING IS ILLEGAL! STREET DRIFTING IS ILLEGAL!
Who gives a flying FUCK if the illegal activities are going to be the ones hit hardest. As it has been said time and again in this thread: The true track hounds won't give a damn after the movie comes out. It will make parts more readily available. I hope it does bring more spotlight to the shit heads street racing/street drifting. Those fucks can have their cars impounded and spend time in jail if we're all lucky.

HAHAHA, so by your own admission, half of the population knows about drifting. The other half are in retirement homes. |

So what if I get pulled over. I don't have anything illegal on my vehicle. See that's the trick to not worrying about it. If you don't do things you know are illegal, you don't have to worry about being caught. IT'S JUST A DAMN MOVIE! The first two did not cause me any vehicular grief, neither will this one. I guess it just sucks to live in Cali.

I agree with those who stated that this movie will increase the prices of all things 240 related. The supply of 240sx's (s14 esp), SR20DET's, and RB's is drastically being reduced due to the already HIGH demand for the parts. |

I think its sad that
1) People get so bent out of shape over what will be a stupid and very bad movie about a sport the general public could give two shits about.. 2) The people who are emoing about the crackdown on illegal drifting... 3) The people who are willing to sell their 240's to make a quick buck, while bashing the idiots who are going to buy their cars

You better not...cuz im selling my rattle canned S14 for that much... Any takers??? Just $15k!!! As far as having a FnF3 Movie meet...we should have a corner of the parking lot all for us. That way we can all park together and all have FOR SALE signs on our dashes, everybody will see it when they get out of the movies. |

ok first off all did n e one notice in the firth fnf that michelle rodriguez drove a s14?>???? and the other slap jaw had a r32??? i didnt see a giant explosion of s14 like hers goin around unlike the rs eclipse claimed in the first film.drifting itself grew by itself ...it is a attention grabbing sport...much like american idol.n e ways i admit i will watch it and try to enjoi it. but i dont want to be competing for parts in the junkyard for 240sx parts n e more than i have to..before i could find n e thing i wanted...now its different.after the first accident of these nublets...i bet they wont even wanna try it again and call drifting gay and piontless =) ..all we can do is wait and see and make sure our alarm and club or clutch lock is armed

At the time i saw f&f i didnt even know what kind of car a 240sx was probably took me a while because they only showed it about 3 times. This movie should just be called f&f 3 DORIFTO.
Maybe they'll only show s13s. Either way people with hondas that watch this are going to trade in their hondas for rwd cars. Theres no doubt about this. Most of the people who do get influenced into buying a 240sx because of the movie are not going to tastefully modify them which will really put 240sx at a low. Then again drifting is more dangerous and people who pick up on it usally know atleast the difference between oversteer and understeer. I dont see too much people that like racing buying 2k suspensions unless they really need it. They usally go for power; thus making people who buy a 240 go for power and spin out a lot and loss hope... hopefully. Lol. In japan drifting is pretty popular unlike here they have tracks everywhere. If people do start getting stupid here and going crazy in the streets drifting is going to get targeted by the media and the cops way more. Either way its going to be bad. I mean com'on most of the people playing Inital D think they are the best drivers just because they can avoid some walls. People are going to come out of that movie with a lot of confidence thinking they learned everything there is to know about drifting and the chaos begins. 240sx ran out when people started reading magazines and realizing that they can be made fast on a tight budget and out handled a lot of cars easly. Intial D made hachi-rokus run out. Supras ran out with F&F. Nobody ever even knew what a r34 was until F&F2 now everyone even my grandma knows what kind of car it is. I have no doubt in my mind that this movie is going to make our cars expensive and hard to get a hold of but maybe make a better aftermarket then again not many 240sx were made.

You should come by Ontario some time , we already have that. Tons of earl schieb painted, go kart wing'd 240's around hurrrr. Hot in the streets!....... no. You guys are already overly worried about a movie that hasn't even been released yet. Who knows, maybe it's going to bomb and no one watches it. (though, as bad as the first two were, and their popularity, i doubt it.) I have no idea what junkyards you guys goto, but when I goto ours, it's already impossible to find parts, there's these armies of, now don't take offense, immigrant workers taking every part off every car they find. I thikn someone hires them by the dozen, and then sells the parts online or something. Me and a friend litterally had to jump in an S14 and lock the doors and roll up the windows to get an interior out. Like stated previously, drifting requires a little more investment and ability than 'street racing'. True, everyone with their Civic's will drive out of the parking lot from the movie and try to slide the first corner they see, but when they do they'll figure out how much harder it is than it looks. Most will give up on it after a few tries, or crash in the process. Hopefully. So, who's up for going to an early showing, then camping out on the street corner to watch these morons crash? |

I'm going to see it, and that's all there is to it.
BTW, the first two FnF were Universal's highest grossing films at the time. Not sure if they retain that title. |

It's not like the FnF movies are documentaries of the import/tuner world. I liked the first 2, YES, I LIKED THE FIRST ONES. That doesn't make me a "ricer/bandwagon jumper". |

Are most of you serious about hating the movie? Shit, I can't wait for it to come out, instead of selling my KA-T for $4,000, I'll be able to sell it for $10,000!!!!

yup, and there's nothing wrong with making more money than you spent. where's the harm in making a profit out of a car that you worked hard on? shit, might as well sell for alot of money, then find another one for cheap and start over again. fuck it, money is money right? and the movie should be pretty entertaining, just like the last ones.

For sure there's gonna be a crackdown in cali on drifting and drift cars. It sucks for asshole street drifters like me that my super quiet late night spots are gonna be swarmed with jagoffs understeering their front tires into jelly and claiming they are the next lil bow wow drift master! Worse than anything is the increased amount of break ins and car thefts that will be coming, too. Make sure you lock up your baby tite and now might be a good time to install that kill switch. Anybody with a FMIC that leaves their car parked outside is doomed.
