Inside of my friends 240sx door there is the vin plate, on it there is a black stamp reading “1” and then /89 so it reads 1/89, we were wondering what this meant, made in January of 1989? Made in 1988? Or unrelated to date

When using an oil restrictor for bb turbo, is it better to place the restrictor close or further away from the turbo?

what's everyone running wheel offsets to fit Origin type 4 75mm fenders and rear quarters. i'm trying to cut out wheel spacers. I'm running 18x9.5 -16 & 18x10.5 -16, 265/35 front he front and maybe 315/35 for the rears for tires.

this for a s13 for time attack or road courses.

Would the d21 intake box fit a 240sx Ka24e SOHC?

Both the d21 and 240sx have a Ka24e, could I use a d21 air box for my 240sx intake? Thanks

SR20 S13 Idle valve

Does anyone know if the SR20 S13 idle valve NEEDs coolant to be ran to it for it to function properly?? What I am getting at; does the stock valve have the wax stat (internal solenoid/thermostat for the air bypass valve) that aids in idle adjustment??

I do not have coolant running to mine and wondering if that is affecting the struggle to idle while cold and allowing too much/little air to bypass into the manifold.

I am on a MAP sensor btw

No it doesnt need coolant...it certainly helps, specially with iutside temp fluncation compared to operating engine temp.

Now if your running a standalone(cause ur running map) u could tech. Delete the whole ivac setup, use throttle adjustment screw for idle and tune for that.

Im sr20 greddy intake manifold and deleted the coolant lines running to my ivac. No idle issuses at all.

This is a noob ass question, but I just want to be absolutely sure. I blew a head gasket at the last event(confirmed with block tester). I noticed afterwards that when turning over the engine was audibly down a cylinder. I hoped it was the head gasket, but it's still doing it after replacing it. The engine runs smooth, but I'm 97% sure it has a cracked ringland or two. I'm fixing to rebuild the motor(oe rebuild, nothing crazy). Could this ringland failure have been caused by driving with the blown head gasket? I only stopped driving when the car stopped dropping from ~240F after runs, so obviously it was leaking the last few runs, which is when I noticed it sounding like it was down a cylinder.

My next related question is can there be detonation present but absolutely no damage to the piston tops or spark plugs? Everything APPEARS normal, but that doesn't always mean it's fine. There was never any sign of detonation when tuning, I've never heard any and I've never noticed it pulling timing. I'm pretty confident there is no detonation, but again I just want to be sure.

Ringlang failure could of been caused from overheating(headgasket issuse) could of happend from cooland entering the cylinder and liquild doesnt compress.

Yes u could have detonation and no signs. But that be so little couldnt imagine it cracking a ringland.

Maybe ur down a cylinder due to just a blown head....run a leakdown test and ull get ur answer.

I’ve since replaced the head gasket and it is no longer leaking. I also forgot to note there is blue smoke at idle now, so I figure it’s most likely a ringland failure or at least substantial wear. The motor had 280k so it’s to be expected

Has anyone ordered from Fineline Tuning recently?

I placed an order over a month and a half ago and am yet to receive any update. I've tried emailing Alex during business hours through the email listed in their contact section but no reply... Went as far as trying to contact them through their eBay store and still no luck.

Anyone else run into this before? Trying to get my car to paint, a general time frame for when the aero should arrive would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

There quality dropped alot aswell, so be prepared todo more then the usual body work to have a decent fitting/looking kit. Lots of air pockets in fiberglass, thing layers in spots and rough gel coat spots. All the edges are super rough.

Just speaking on what ive come across.

I have a broken maf sensor that reads 22680 53F01 A36 00 G62 all the other ones I find are 22680-53F00-A36 00 G60, only a 2 number difference I’m just wondering if it will mess up anything
