SR overheating at higher speeds

At first my water pump was leaking and causeing my car to overheat. I changed it and car runs great driving around locally at 50 mph.

I went on a londer drive today from Sd to Irvine and when i would cruise at 70-80 i would realize my car was get hotter. the needle pointed at the mark above the middle on the thermostat. and if i drive a little faster it would raise closer to the H and almost at the H. But as soon as i reduced my speed it would steadily lower.

Another example, Cruising back home from irvine, the car's temp is fine. I drop to third, and accel thorugh the powerband through 4th and let off and the needle is one mark away from the H.

I have a stock radiator and it does have a clutch fan. any ideas on how i can help my motor run cooler and stay reliable?

thanks guys and gals in advance for the help.

do you still have the stock bumper with no slots cutout? my friends sr was overheating doing pulls in higher mph but just cruising it was fine. it ended up being the bumper wasn't getting air to it.

Yup.... bad flush you still have air...... do it right or bring it to someone.... There are a LOT of threads on how to bleed the system...... and it is not just replace and fill the radiator....
