Output Shafts Left vs Right

I hope I don't catch to much criticism for this question, but I did give a good look around the internet first. I'm throwing in a Tomei 2 way replacing my S14 open diff and when I was taking my diff apart a few weeks ago I never labeled which side is the left or right output shafts. As most of you know one of the output shafts is longer and I need to find out what side to put the longer shaft in and what side the shorter shaft in. Thanks for any advice.

In my pics the longer shaft has a "2" on the flange that connects to the axle and the shorter shaft has an "A," if that helps in determining which side to go.
