Heading out to the garage to replace the clutch right now. Have to have flywheel to Flag engine and machine by eight tomorrow morning. Wish me luck! I might check in periodically.
Also rented a kick-butt tranny jack. |

News headline: "Lone mechanic brutatlly beats Nissan engineer." I was up til 4:30 last night, and could not get the two top tranny to engine bolts. THey are in possibly the most inaccessible position I have ever seen. Have bought a 2" hole saw and will be boring through firewall to loosen bolts from inside. I'll let you guys know, but OMF%^&G, I am pissed.
Also, being I haven't let the clutch slip into major disrepair, I'm thinking about not resurfacing the flywheel, should it look decent. The clutch isn't slipping in normal driving, so I know the rivets haven't started scaping the flywheel, thus it should be fine. Normally, I'd do it anyway, but Flag engine and machine is now closed, and don't want to put the truck back together the night before I leave for home. Comments? |

tranny is finally out. $%^&#&!! Two huge holes in cab. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> I think whoever wrecked it before didn't put the engine mounts in exactly the right place, cause it was a bitch.
