Gruppe-s
I ordered a set of Nismo LMGT-4 wheels for my 240sx back in March. They said that it would come in with the June shipment. As June starts to rolls around, I e-mailed Gabe (the sales person I dealt with originally) and I receive no responses. I called and received a machine which I left a message. After a couple of days with no response, I decided to send an e-mail to sales. Eventually, I receive an e-mail from Max. He informs me that Gabe went back to school so no one was reading his e-mails. No worries. No one is perfect. I ask Max for a ETA on those wheels. He says that they should be in next month since Rays couldn't finish making them in time for this last shipment they received. I wait another month and they said that the rears came in but the fronts did not. They asked me if I only wanted to pick up the rears. I declined as I couldn't start my body and paint work without all four. Then the next month finally comes around and I e-mail Max. No response. I call and I get the machine again. I leave a message and wait a couple of days and still no response. I don't get how they sell anything without responding to people. I call again and talk to a girl named Christina (I think that is her name). I asked about a status on the wheels and she said she would find out and call me back. I didn't really believe her but she did indeed call me back. I was surprised. She said the wheels would be in a week from now. Guess what, it finally arrived. I am glad that there is at least one person in that whole company that tells the truth. About a month later I was reading on other forums that these wheels comes with lug nuts and center caps. I call my Nissan parts guy at Pinnacle Nissan. He tells me that he will talk to Paul over at Nismo USA. He gets back to me and tells me that all Nismo LMGT4 wheels comes with center caps and lug nuts. I e-mail Max again and continue to wait. I am really not holding my breath for a response. However, I think you guys should be aware of their business practices.
Cliffs: Ordered wheels in March. Took almost twice as long as they promised. Had a extremely difficult time getting responses. They didn't give me my center caps and lug nuts that were suppose to come with the wheels. I e-mail them and they don't respond.

Is that part of the reason why they moved to socal?

Wow that sucks. I tried to place an advan order through them years ago but their presales service sucked so bad that I backed off and went elsewhere. On a side note, if they didn't say you were getting center caps and lugs before the sale, why would you expect them? It is possible that caps and lugs only come with orders placed through Nissan. I think its unfair to expect more than you originally bargained for. But hey, don't get me wrong - that kind of customer service is unacceptable and I agree that they should be avoided.

They moved into Dynamic Autosports, which as a huge warehouse. By moving to So cal you are closer to all the distributors and can get parts faster or atleast bug the company direct. Thats my opinion. Places like Gruppe-S is just the middle man and I could see it being difficult for them to make individual orders being ~400 miles away from the nearest distributor or US base and keeping tabs on each and everyone of them.

Not sure if this is 100% but what I have heard is that Eddie at Dynamic bought out Gruppe-s. They moved their whole operation to their warehouse in socal.

I used to have a GDB back in the day also. I remember when they first came about alot of people were skeptical of them because a lot of items they sell are gray market items. As time went, more and more people started to buy stuff from them. After that I got a different vehicle and never really looked at them. Then years later I found out that they were one of the people able to get the wheels I wanted. So, I went ahead thinking that they still had a good rep.

Gruppe-S has horrible customer service. My bro put down a deposit on some SSR Professors. We waited for 3months and then called back. They told my bro "oh you only put down a 50% deposit so when the shipment came in we sold it because someone was going to pay full price for it so we gave it to him. You'll have to wait till next shipment". My bro got so pissed so he demanded a refund.

not sure about you guys, but i had a near PERFECT transaction with bernard and gruppe-s...he dealt with all my questions via email/pm/telephone...he price matched with no questions asked...worked a LOT of numbers for me and had the patience of a saint...everything shipped out exactly as he stated...his pair of rims were actually better packaged/prepped than the two drop shipped by enkei...never got an electronic invoice via email, but who cares? always called back to update me and when i got paranoid after not receiving the invoice, he took the time to reassure me and run everything down...couldnt be happier with our transaction...killer pricing and awesome customer service if you ask me...
bernard/gruppe-s =
