s13 Spark Plug Question

Mine came with Gaskets (Champions). I gapped them .042. It says you can either use the gasket or not. Does the KA24E supposed to use the gaskets or do you install them without them? (By the way the gasket is a little metal ring at the bottom of the plug.) Also with the SR20det do you use the gaskets or not? is it a personal preference or a nissan mandatory thing? Thanks in advance. These are for the KA24E by the way.

s13 Also another gap question

What's the optimal gap for the ka24e? sr20det? Say the optimal gap is .040. If you gap them .038 is that a more advanced timing gap or a retarded timing gap? Thanks in advance again.

yes I get that

but I thought the gap can be adjusted to change timing slightly - more advance or retardard?

You put Champion plugs in a 240? It's not a lawnmower mang, go buy some NGKs.
