How much is it worth?

So, buddy of mine has an sr he's been trying to get rid of and since im in the market I figured i'd try to see what his is worth and work something out with him to get it. Story of the motor - He bought an sr from a kid that got the motor and put it in the car and whomped on it from day one and messed up the piston seat on cylinder #1. The car does crank and run, and he has the new piston seats to go in the motor, what should I offer him for the full swap and how hard would this be to fix hoping that theres no other issues?

p.s. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

How much is rebuilding the engine worth to you? You have to tear down the engine, bare minimum, take the head off, take the oil pans/cradle off to get access to the rods, pull the rod/piston out, rehone the cylinder, slap some fresh rings/maybe even replace the piston if the ring lands are done, then put everything back together.
