Troubles with my MAF sensor??
So let me start by saying i have already google searched this issue and read all over the forums for a remedy to this and haven't had much success, i have a ka24eT i just finished building, the car starts and stumbles until it dies, thinking it was the Stock MAf sensor being bad i swapped to a new z32 MAF (not used) with no luck the car will idle and start but if you give it some throttle and release the pedal it stumbles before it dies, also the car with the z32 MAF wont rev past 2500 even with the pedal to the floor, but when you unplug the maf the car purs like a kitten without any smoke stumbling or backfiring, before i boosted it it ran flawlessly as well, i have already changed the plugs and gaped to .32 paired with some new NGK wires
i wired in the Z32 MAF as follows, A not used B white 5 volt signal or sensor C black ground D black ground E black/white stripe or 12v constant power F not used the car would rev all throughout the RPM range if you kept feeding it gas prior to to swapping the MAFs but now the car wont rev above 2500rpms also id like to add im running a stock ecu, but i dont think thats the issue either because with the MAF unplugged the car idles like champ, At this point im stumped and im starting to get discouraged i dont know whats wrong with this thing does anyone have an idea? -Alex- |

Alex, a stock z32 maf cannot replace a stock kae maf. So you need to get a stock kae maf, or get a tune to use the z32 maf. Until then it will only idle without the maf if it is indeed bad.
Also a lot of things fresh or inexperienced builders might not notice is if there is a large vacuum leak somewhere. That can cause all sorts of trouble and the best remedy is to boost leak test the whole system to rule out any culprits
