Assetto Corsa
Go directly to steam and buy this now.
Hands down the best tire model and physics of any sim, and I have played them all. I have been into iRacing for years as it really is the king of sims. Not any more, the king has been dethroned! Assetto Corsa: BMW Z4 E89 35is - YouTube

$40 for this caliber of a SIM is stupid cheap. You don't even want to know what iRacing costs.
This is not a beta, it's an early access. You get the full SIM as a free upgrade when released, and on top of it you save 22% all while enjoying the game early. Whatever though, wait till v1 comes out and pay 22% more... |

You will like it, just take your time going through all the settings to get it running the way you like. You can set realism to gamer, racer, pro or custom to set the level of stability control, traction control, abs, etc. Also when your in the car move you mouse over the right side of the screen to show all the apps available, like fps monitors, lap times, gear indicator, etc, etc.

Yeah it's very good. I played about a year ago and it was buggy as hell. This is smooth.
I still think RSRBR wins for physics but this isn't bad at all. |

i will pick it up when i get home this weekend.. hopefully put in some play time (sometimes i travel for work so that takes me away for a weeks time).
I soo want to get an oculus rift That looks soo awesome Figure the oculus rift would be cheaper than getting triple monitors and building a pc strong enough to run triples... The immersion looks amazing.

The head tracking has low enough latency and screen refresh rate is high enough that the presence is amazing. Pixel density needs to get better, but with super sampling I don't even notice most of the time. FOV needs to improve too. I'd rather have higher FOV than higher resolution at this point. |

the ruf is soo freaking hard to drive. Rear end loves to step out
Did the real 787 have an h-shifter ? i tried to set up sequential shift with my g25 and couldnt get it.. it kept wanting to use the clutch/h shifter.. I think the modder set it that way. I couldnt get the inanimated carbon mod to work.. when id try to launch the track, it would return back to the main menu.. Im on windows 8.1 btw, so that is probably why at the moment.

Yeah the ruf is hard but you will get use to it.
I am pretty sure the real 787b used an h-shift which is crazy. The carbon mod has these know issues. V1.00 may have compatibility issues with Windows 8 OS. Do not install SweetFX or uninstall SweetFX. If AC is not launching (crash on start) remove dxgi.dll and degi.fx and see if it solve the problem. I would use JSGME mod enabler when installing the carbon mod which allows you to apply and remove individual mods from any game. You can get it here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/...-Enabler.shtml Also HyperTek if you want to remove the carbon mod (and you didn't use the JSGME mod enabler) simply delete all folders with any part of it and run a steam integrity check; and you will be back to vanilla AC in minutes.

If you don't have the Lake Louise Loop Road, download it now.
This road is amazing!! Full scratch build and he isn't even done with it yet. The downhill section is so fast. Love driving the Ferrari 312T on this. You really have to check out the build thread of this also. This guy is busting his ass on this. v2 is going to be awesome. http://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/in...ic-v1-6.13505/

New to this game. Just getting a hang of finding custom cars and tracks online. Who has some good ones they wanna share?
...also, I would love to drift online but not too sure how to go about doing it. I see alot of people talking about modding for SP mode....? What does this do?

I picked up an Oculus Rift, and I've almost exclusively been playing Assetto and Dirt Rally in VR now. Drifting online with randos.
I host a drift server when I'm online playing with a couple of friends. If you see it up, jump in, server name is "NerdFaction". Cars that I usually run in the server are; the official drift AE86, Titan JZX100, and the SP 180sx. Track rotation is typically; Ebisu minami / west, nikko, yamanashi (a lot lol), bihoku (forget which file version), sekia hills, tamada, and meihan. My Steam username is Superkamikazee.
