What should I do...
So here's my dilemma. I have two hatches. One is my dd an 89 (paints shit but runs great nice wheels full suspension exhaust I love it) and I recently purchased a nice shell for a steal that I was planning to flip. It's a 91 LE. leather seats sunroof power everything. Motor is toasted fried piston and head is missing, and it's auto. Paints better than my dd, but it's bone stock. My plan was buy a used motor, drop in and flip. The money for the 91 was given to me by a friend that is currently incarcerated. If he beats case hell be out in July or so if not it'll be a few years. I told him if he wants ill use the money he has stashed to flip a car or two and when he gets out hell have more money than when he went in. He agreed, I bought car.
Now recently some of u have notice the price/availability of dual cams have skyrocketed (in my area at least) and I have been having a hard time sourcing one for a decent price. Where the car is located I can only have and work on for about a month (parents house). I work a full time job, and another part time job but weekends are free.
My question. In your opinion do I keep the 91 (chuki) sell my car and build the chuki. Or do I keep trying to find an engine and stick to the plan. I realize I can swap most of my parts on the pig nose to the chuki and sell it as stock but ill be stuck with a car that looks great and doesn't run. And won't get as much for it. I'm kinda stuck on what I should do. I don't want my buddy to get out and be broke and worse off than when he went in, but also I wanted to flip the car not only to benefit him financially but me as we'll... I'm just looking for honest opinions. If you just wanna talk shit take it elsewhere please. Thanks!
