In need of some fast tech anwsers.

So.

I just swapped an s13 SR into a hatch a few days ago.

I bought the motorset from JonWayne (Sil-ABC) so I know it's legit.

So I pulled out the old ka...swapped in the SR..wired everything up.

everything seemed fine.

I cranked it over...fired up fine first time. w00t.

but It was sounding like a subbie...

I checked the coilpacks they are getting power to them. (pulse light)
I even tried replacing the coilpacks from my last motorset; which I new worked...but nothing changed.
and I replaced the coilpack harness from my last motorset; which I new worked...but nothing changed.

I checked the injectors aswell. (pulse light) I even pulled out the multimeter and the numbers were correct.

they seem to be getting power to them aswell.

The car is misfiring...and honestly...I'm stumped..

I checked the fuel sending lines...and they are sending fuel fine.

where should I be looking next?

I was thinking about the ecu wiring...

any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT*

I even put new iridium plugs in and gapped them at .28

#1 and #3 are the cylinders misfiring.

Ignitor is good. Coilpacks are good. No damage on the rubber ends. Spark plugs are not getting blow-by.

did you check the plugs?

when you take out a coil at time does the engine keep up or does it drop

listen for each cylinder

see any fouling?

correct gap?? .03?

how are the boots on the coils make sure no fouling or damage

could cause the spark to arc early (i've had this happen and it caused a misfire)

did you test spark by connecting the spark plug to the coil and then checking

^Yea.

New plugs..coilpacks are working fine.

Ecu threw code 55.
everythings okay.

vacuum lines are all hooked up correctly.

I might need to check the pinout from my ecu to the injectors.
#1 and #3 are misfiring.

TPS is fine.

That was one of the first things I checked.

TPS at closed throttle registers at .44 volts.

CAS is fine. If Jon never touched it ...it should be fine.

Last thing...Is to check the timing.

Fuel delivery should be fine.

Shitload of fuel squirted out as I did a fuel reading on it.

I'll try replacing that too while I'm at it.

What about your ignitor chip/wiring. I had a similar issue, but I tore the wiring apart and found that the shielding wire to my #1 coilpack was grounding on my signal wire. This caused a subie sounding misfire. I trimmed the excess insulation, and cleaned up the harness and after that no problem. I just tested continuity in the wiring and found it. GL.

had that problem in my Diesel. Ended up being a kinked vaccum line. Unlikely but worth a look.

physically unhook your injectors one by one. dont just use a pulse light, if they're clogged they arent shooting fuel!

^ I actually took apart each injector and inspected them, and replaced the O rings on each one. I let the car run while unplugging each injector...as I pulled out #1,3. Nothing happened and the car didn't want to die.

Since #2,4 are working properly(and stumble when pulled out), I swapped #2 with #1...and still no stumbling when I performed a check.
I believe the problem remains on the wiring.
Tomorrow I'm tearing apart the entire wiring harness and checking for any faulty wires.
I'd might as well just tuck all my wiring while I'm at it.

S13SDCOUPE: I actually replaced the entire coilpack harness with the one from my last motorset that I knew ran perfectly well...and the problem still remains..I believe the problem might be somewhere after the coilpack sub-harness.

I'll update this thread tomorrow.

Just use a dvom and test continuity through that subharness just to make sure. I just rewired my friend's subharness that he bought as a "drop-in" swap, and it was way off. Just double check it to be safe. GL.
