Less stealth, but still looks cool. A pic of my Tomei manifold installed
(PS my old SR hybrid manifold is for sale)

I'm hoping so.
Can anybody confirm if the GTX2871r .64 will fit under the SR's stock heat shield on a KA with the modded SR mani? That might be the best bet.

I run a twisted motion 2871 turbo and it fits. Are you talking about that small heat shield that attaches to the turbo itself? This came with the bracket for that so I assume it would fit too

I just wanted to post this here in case you haven't seen it. I hope the KA-T sleeper was represented well. |

Not very stealthy, but close enough. Finally ditched the unreliable efans for a proper clutch fan setup. Upgraded to gktech fan blades and the new Koyo NFlo KA radiator. It cruises at 158F now, excited to see how it does at the track.

Here’s the thing, I was running Altima fans. At the track it would shoot up to 210(and keep climbing) after a lap or two and when you’re on a circuit style track it really sucks to have to constantly pull off. Meanwhile my friend with a clutch fan was doing lap after lap and never saw over 190. Yeah cruising around it would stay around 178F, but under hard driving it just didn’t hold up. I’m running just the clutch fan and it’s a lot lower than the Altima fans ever were. I was an avid efan supporter for the longest time but they simply aren’t as good as clutch fans, and they damn sure aren’t as reliable.

There's definitely aftermarket option that work great, but the altima fans themselves just didn't fair well for me. Whatever you do, just don't run a Taurus fan

Shouldn't the specs reflect that? Anybody's got the specs for the altima fans vs the evo fans?

They’re just rarely ever for sale. Gktech blades are cheap enough and flow even more air. But yes the rb blades fit both ka and sr

I maybe the minority in this opinion but I think clutch fans look better anyways. I don't care for the large gap between the e-fans and the engine.

I think most ppl just like the sense of space the e-fans create. More room to work on stuff.

Yeah I had both wired on high and even still it wouldn't hold a good temp. I also run a nismo tstat and at the time had a single row koyo. I mainly like the peace of mind. When I was running a taurus fan I found out the hard way just how much power they pull. I kept melting relays and wouldn't find out til the car started overheating. Happened one too many times and I blew the headgasket, which in turn blew the ringlands since I kept driving on it thinking there was just air in the system because the oil was perfectly clean(I knew when it hit 380F though). Even though I had beefed the wiring and relay up to hold 60A no issue, I just didn't trust it. I found myself constantly turning the radio down and listening for the fans every time I stopped which was annoying. At least now I know the clutch fan is working at all times.

Only time e fans make a bae look cooler is if you have anodized pulleys and an engine clean enough to eat off of. Otherwise cover up that mess with the shroud haha.

I get you on the reliability thing, Hoffman.
I ran a big single efan when I first went KA-T, about 9 years ago, and I ended up blowing the headgasket when the efan just decided to stop turning on hahaha. |
