so my 91 hatch has ABS and the light is on
the pump/motor is always running and continues to do so even when the car is off. - i have resorted to disconnecting the battery to keep from being drained.

what is causing this ? and can I pulled a fuse to disable the ABS? I have tried the Anti-Skid fuse in the engine bay and that didn't do it - the pump kept running

Sometimes the relays start to stick in their old age. You can either pull the relays or buy replacements at the dealership.

Mine does the same in cold weather. Popping the hood open and flicking the relay with my finger fixes it.
