When did OS Giken start making parts for the KA?
Someone linked me to this site: http://www.jtuned.com/content/templa...d=262&zoneid=1 and I was surprised to see that OS Giken makes KA internals and an exhaust manifold (am also thinking a FMIC kit). I'm guessing this might have been out for awhile....but since when? and does anyone else have more info about this? I wonder what the manifold design looks like and how much $$$$$ that setup runs. |

OS Giken more then likely has it's parts made by other manufacturers and puts its stamp on it. BuffaloDaughter- why spend so much on OS Giken internals when already enough companies support it here stateside. Altho Like how BH wanted that clutch, only a matter of time until we see similar products like the exedy hyper single clutch for KAs. Im drooling over the OS Giken gear set. omg I want that so badly. Shit, i'd end the life of Thao's thieves in a heartbeat if it meant getting the clutch, and gear set haha

Non was developing that kit in 03. I saw it at SEMA 03. He had his booth across from ours but he wasn't done with the kit when I saw it. Yeah, that kit is pretty awesome. Hope that it gets a carb# licensed for it (DAMN, Cali strict smog laws and swap laws). That'll be a good alternative to boost on our truck engine...yee haw...hehehe lol j/k
oh yeah, he was in development at the time when I saw it: a clutch, turbo, tranny or close ratio gears

What do you mean why spend my moneyon OS giken? Cause OS Giken is the shit thats why. They make bad ass clutches and other parts in japan its great to have a major japanese company making quality parts for the KA. It's like have HKS internals or Trust internals but for KA's. I know they have internals here, I have known from the start but thats not what im looking for. On another not Non's current set-up is pretty cool. I think iread somethingabout it trying to be carb legal??? Thats tight if it is. My eyes are definetly on this.

just cause its not made by some jdm company doesn't mean stuff's not crap. Personally the os giken stuff isn't tried and true, its the new kid on the block. people haven't put 600+hp to the wheels with it. I'd rather use something thats been time tested than something brand new thats more expensive...

simples14, i figured as much after i posted that...oh well.
where'd you buy you n1 dual from? i'm trying to find it cheap...or have meineke make something similar...i have an exhaust leak (warped flange on cat), and it's a great excuse for new exhaust. back on topic: well, i guess this explains what Non's been doing since his historic s14 went up on ebay. |

Go ahead and spend your money for that special JDM name though. I'll spend my money better elsewhere, don't worry though, you're setup will still be good for something, you can always let me know if my tailights are clean or not.

What's funny is he mentioned HKS and Trust/Greddy, two companies that are well known for outsourcing manufacturing work to US companies. Those HKS pistons you like? Most likely JE. Greddy connecting rods? Carrillo.
But have fun paying the JDM markup. |

STOP RUINING THE THREAD!!!!
I simply wanted to know when OS Giken started making parts for the KA. Maybe they did outsource to a US company...but then again maybe not. Didn't Yashio Factory makes some parts for the KA way back? (yes..random question). Welp, since I have a rough idea when this all started....I want to know when such parts will be readily available and what prices we are looking at. raen419 - I bought my exhaust used way back in 2002. |

like all these stupid women paying thousands of dollars for some kind of designer purse when it looks the exact same as a mexican ripoff... the same reason people who dont even care about sports cars buy corvettes or ferraris. the same reasons idiots buy houses in neighborhoods they can barely afford which then keeps their house barren.
for the opposite reason i live in my small town with a few good friends, quaint house, and have two cars fully paid for. some people are show and some people are go and some people just do what works best despite what anybody else thinks. |
