The drive went great. Not much of a turn out though. The original rout was closed due to winter closure(duh). Plan B: we drove hwy 28 up the east shore of Tahoe. One of our guys got puked on because he chose to tailgate a car that must have had a hung-over dude in the backseat. We stopped in Incline to wash the car. Then we drove over Mt. Rose to Reno then hwy 341 to Virginia City. There we ate at a friend’s restaurant; the Bonanza Café.

After that we drove down the truck route, which as I understand is, backwards, the same road as the Ferrari hill climb. The rx7 got brake fade, Alex’s STi with green stuff pads got a little fade and some stink. My favorite part was when my Axxis “ultimate” pads smoked at the bottom of the hill. This is really cool because I didn’t notice any fade. And I have slightly blue rotors now. Too bad it’ll polish away in a couple of days.

To finish off we went back through Carson City, took Jacks Valley road to hwy 395/88 then came back to Tahoe from the south with a stop at my house in Meyers then bbq’ed at Gabe’s house.

We as a crew of enthusiasts did learn valuable lessons and skills from trying to organize a potentially fun time, only to get the shaft from a big un-organized business in the end. And we still know how to have a fun time. Further more, we’ll strive to bring good races and events to our community filled with other enthusiasts. Thanks for looking.

Ansel
