Angry Turbo Rebuild Roadblock

Hello everyone,
I am in the process of rebuilding my ISR RS3871r turbo. I have done everything except for the turbo oil seal on the hotside. For some reason, I just can't seem to get the turbine to want to go into the CHRA. It's almost as if the seal is too big. Do you think the seal is the wrong size, or do I have to hit it with a hammer really hard or something?

Thanks,
Evan

Sometimes you have to use a pick and compress the ring a little so the turbine slides in. Given that the isr is a knockoff Garrett, it could use different spec parts. Best of luck.

Oh, do not hit the turbine hard with a hammer.

Thanks for the reply. I did figure out the issue this morning. I had put the thrust washer in upside-down. That's why you don't try to learn new things when are tired lol.
