Q45 Front Brakes w/ Altima 4 lug rotors

i was reading about this swap on some site and i was wondering if it was really worth it. Ive heard that everything bolts right up and that i should be able to still run my steelies. Has anybody tried this particular swap

oooo... im interested in this also. i want to know more info on which 4 lug rotor would fit us s13/s14 4luggers.. Any modifications needed for the spec v rotors? same question as the others.. it just shows how much we all want to know.... thank you -kouvang

is it just worth it to get brand new q45 rotors or should it be better to buy a used 94 altima rotor and get it resurfaced? any disadvantages?

always get new if you can but the diff betweenn the 2 is altima- 4 lug thinner
q45- 5 lug thicker

I run q45s up front. Using new (year ago at autozone $35, now $39) 1995 q45 rotors. Had a friend with a few CNC machines CNC mine to 4lug. Way better over stock. If you can lock your front wheels up now with ease, don't bother with the upgrade, get some better tires first. I run Toyo Proxy 4s, love em.

I was in an accident in my car, pressed the break peddle so hard, broke blood vessles in my foot, whole left side was black n blue. Took way to much pressure for me to get to the locking point. (I'm a descently strong at 5'11 260lbs too) With q45s its great, but I think my rears fade too quick now.

P.S Get some Hawk HPS HB415F583 Pads to go with em, good stuff.

I bought this and just swapped it recently. Got some pretty decent rotors for brand new and cheap from 88rotors. If you are 4 lug then they can drill it for you. I paid 62 bucks for my calipers shipped from gotta240 (great seller) and 130 for front rotors and pads shipped. Great bang for the buck.

The difference between the stock s14 and the q45 brakes were somewhat noticable. I used the same exact brake pads from before and after which were the pbr/axxis semi metallic brake pads. The initial bite sucks and its the same for both brakes. It's when you progressively push the pedal further in more then you'll notice a huge difference. It seems to lock easier and much more predictable than my stock brakes.

Here's a tip. I read somewhere that all you need is tin snips to cut the heat shield behind the rotors. You CAN cut it but it took me forever. I cut half the heat shield lip on the drivers side and just sorta bent the other half with an adjustable wrench. For the other side... I just bent the whole lip of the heat shield. I should heat it up with a heat gun or a blow torch to get a clean bend but it still works.
