SoCal OC: Aluminum welder?
Hey Guys,
Looking for something very local to Orange County. I plan on relocating my BoV to the hotpipe side and need a welder to weld the flange on as well as weld something to cover the hole once the BoV is removed from the coldpipe side. Anyone have any recommendations? Not looking to spend a ton either. Thanks! |

Keep the bov on your coldpipe, you want it closer to the throttle body..

Closer to the TB = More Compressor Surge. I agree that the air will escape 'faster' as it's closer to the TB, but all the extra boost pressure/air that is still in the intercooler/hotpip will not be exiting the BoV but rather go right back into the compressor and cause compressor surge. Now if the BoV is closer to the compressor and on the hotpipe, the air will not reach the turbo as it will escape right before it out of the BoV. I've drawn up a diagram showing this. |

You sure that's how it works? Your picture is nice and all, but are you sure that's what is actually going on? I don't understand how the pressure WOULDN'T just go out the path of least resistance (the BOV).
Not hating, I'm interested because I have to make the same decision soon. |
