Any idea wtf is going on?
I just recently put my intake manifold back on (to install new heater hoses, old ones were worn out and leaking) and now my car does this. I've checked for intake/vacuum leaks to no avail. What could be causing my car to do this?
I have also sourced another MAF thinking that was the issue. Still doing it. |

I put in another known working MAF though, same problem. Prior to removing my manifold, my car wasn't doing this. It ran like s*** because my FPR was broke and I had a leaky injector, but I never had it cut me off like this. I think I took off my TPS and then put it back on, would that cause any issues? I'm wondering how I adjust mine, because this car was originally automatic (still has auto ECU).

Check and re-adjust your TPS... How does it idle? Anything unusual?

if its an SR there are some grounds on the back of the intake for the ignition that could cause this, also check your batt voltage
but ya maf wiring is probably your best choice because it was one of the few things pulled around during the swap |

I had the same exact problem. Couldnt go past 4 rpm and the car sounded like it was being choked and would sputter for air.
I checked the MAF and that was not the problem.. I checked the Battery and that needed to be recharged. Charged it and same thing. I checked the alternator and that was the problem. Make sure you are getting a proper voltage and as stated check all grounds. I know it has nothing to do with anything you replaced but worth a shot as possible coincidence. |

Stock KA.
Alternator is new, I can always check if it's charging properly, but I know that isn't the case. Car wasn't doing this prior to removing the intake manifold. Going to take a voltmeter to the TPS whenever I have time and see if I properly calibrate it. Hoping that solves my issue. |

Well, check your grounds then, also, did you put any kind of new hoses? It could just be collapsing cause this OR Maybe the gasket for the intake manifold is leaking

Reset the ECU and see if it persists.

yes hopefully you installed a new gasket, but then i dont think it would cause that, a leaky gasket would most likely cause a bad idle and, like they said, check for codes, not sure if a knock sensor unplugged would do this? how many plugs are there in between the manifold? the brown, purple(near the back),TPS plug(single or dual plugs) and 1 (sometimes 2 )grey plug in front of the intake manifold near the TPS, knock sensor plug near same area as well, what else is there, what about the water temp to ECU and water temp to Cluster, oil light plug shouldnt cause this could it? are they plugged back in?other than that there are only hoses for coolant that run under there correct?anything oxygen sensor releated...did you have to remove the plug leading to the 02 sensor? Or you damaged some wire during the installation or removal of the manifold
