Whats up guys?
i Just now tried to start my car and it was about to start but then died. Now when i turn the key nothing happens. the lights turn on and so the dash but only with lights on but no radio. When i open the door it makes the clicking noise.. idk what could be wrong. The battery is good at over 12V and i cleaned out the terminals.. Nothing. im going to start checking fuses and realys... what do you guys think could be the problem ? starter? |

Yea i checks all the fuses and also relays. They all seem to be ok. but i did not check the starter relay because i cant find it.The car is a 5spd swap not done by me ... but whoever did it fucked all the wiring up lol However i dont think that relay would have anything to do with the power windows coming up or down. Its so weird. i turn the key and nothing happens.. no clicks no nothing. i checked the ignition switch and thats not the problem either. I also noticed that the fuel pump does not prime and the antenna motor does not go up or down either. any ideas on what fuses or relays this could be?
i checked all the important ones and they seem ok. i also checked all the little fuses in the driver side kick panel... im stumped.... Maybe a bad ground? does anyone know where the main battery ground is located ? Does that little white box in the driver side kick panel have anything to do with it? when i was getting in the car before i had brought alot of snow in maybe the snow melted and caused a short? idk my search will continue when i get home from work. |

i figured out the problem after 5 hours of searching through wiring and fuses..... i made a stupid mistake and automatically assumed it wasnt my battery because i had just got it about 2 months ago... However When you checked the voltage it read 12.5V but there where no amps in the battery and thats what a starter needs amps... I plugged the battery into a charger and automatically the charger read that the battery was dead.. After about 2 hours of charging when i turn the key fob all the accessory's turn on but there still isnt enough power for the car to start.. Im going to leave it charging over night and see what happens in the morning and look to see if my alternator is ok..... BUT Just as a reminder to anyone reading this thread ... ALWAYS START FROM THE BASICS!!!!!!
