Weird electrical issue

The other day I swapped out a double din I had for a newer double din unit. Wired it all up and it did not work.. Tested everything and found that the constant voltage wire (yellow on the conversion harness) was only giving me 2.4volts.. It was working fin before.. So I took the aftermarket harness out of the equation no difference.

I ended up running a new wire from the battery to the stereo but I notice now that my clock is very dim, so much so that I cannot read it. I am sure that this has something to do with it.. Any ideas what I can do? I swapped my cluster lights with LED's a year or two ago and the clock LED light stopped working months ago and no light I have put in works since then. I have read this is a common issue. Not sure if they are related or not.
