Sr20det baffle plate below oil return tube

Has anyone ran their Sr20det without this baffle plate located under the oil return tube in the back of the engine? If so, were any problems noticed? I realize that Nissan uses this plate to prevent oil from escaping from the return tube but I’ve lost mine and need to know if it’s absolutely necessary to have.

A soda can cut up would work here. If you have that line on a catch can, leave it out.
