i am very confident in the wiring btw, it was done by phase2. how do i confirm ecu is getting power? i assumed since windows and lights worked that ecu worked.

On s13 there is a ground at the back of the valve cover that is pretty well hidden between the head and the firewall. That's what prevented me from getting spark when I did my swap.

basically, just ground the shit out of ur engine. Here's what i've got:
4 gauge ground from the block to frame rail 8 gauge ground from intake manifold to chassis 8 gauge ground from head (above exhaust manifold) to firewall No problems for me. It seems like a lot of problems are caused just by grounding issues. |

Unless I missed it, you didnt confirm that you are getting fuel? As far as grounds there is...
the coil pack harness ground which I have grounded to the head the ecu grounds to the back intake manifold (2 grounds right next to each other) the ground that connects to the spade on the firewall maf ground which isn't really relevant right now the ground on the passenger shock tower ( i believe grounds the alternator?) and one more ground that should be up by your abs which i cant think of now. Adding more grounds cant hurt really so you might as well. If I'm forgetting any then someone chime in. |

when i was messing around with the ecu, i noticed a few things. in this first picture it looks like a relay is missing. or perhaps i have it plugged into the wrong place, because the empty spot looks just like the occupied spot. how do i know?
and this here, i found this plug just hanging out under my passenger side carpet. it looks like the harness goes to the back of the car running parallel to the door sill. it was not plugged in...i am concerned.

If the fuel pump isnt priming make sure the big white plug (F4?) is properly plugged in with the clip in lock position. Its down there right by the firewall and the relays on the passenger side. It may seem snug but it MUST be locked.
Edit If you need I'll try get pictures of mine down there. Its an s14sr in a 97 so it should help. |

use a test light and check the wire that goes back to the fuel pump at a few points. Start at the back by the pump, and if there's no voltage then work your way back towards the dash and maybe you'll find a problem with the connection, or wire, or somethin...
good luck! so does that mean you're getting spark now? |

is your ecu getting power? That's what it sounds like to me.
I don't know about as much about SR's...but see if there's an LED on the ECU or somethin to verify it's getting powered on. That would also explain no power to the fuel pump (as it's controlled through the ECU). that's strange you're having these kind of problems with a professional wiring job... |

Lets get a better picture of those 2 white plugs. I just took a look at mine and I definitely have 2 white plugs that are connected behind what I believe is the F4 plug. Also I do not have any empty relays. There should be 4 relays from what I remember.
