q45 rear end in s14 problems

Okay so i've got a 97 240, q45 rear end. rear wheel bearings went out.
At first we werent thinking and bought 240 bearings.. well duh that was a no go. We then ordered 96 q45 bearings, and they didnt work. I bought the car with the rear end in it, and the previous owner doesnt know if its z32 or q45. the knuckles are cast, q45 has aluminum.
we then went back to auto zone, and the system says 96 q45 bearings and z32 bearings are the same part number.

I got no idea what the hell is goin on... any ideas????

EDIT!
the bad bearing measured at 85 x 45, anyone have any idea? Matched up with tt z32 pretty damn close, but not exact. haven't measured z32 bearings yet, but they seem to look the same.
any help is appreciated!!

so aggravating!

yes i know auto zone isnt #1 place to get parts, I live in a small town and it's the only parts store we have. my friend works there, he knows what he's looking at, but the parts just dont match. I'm looking for help, not smart ass remarks. I have to leave to get back on base on the 1st and would REALLY appreciate any ideas anyone may have.
Thanks.

EDIT:
are q45 bearings and z32 bearings the same part, interchangeable?

call nissan, even if they are far from you, google a nissan number, maybe close to you, and ask them, if theyre idiots, you'll have to find a Nismo Shop Nissan, which can be located using Nissan USA's website and talk to the "nismo" guy

Try the na z32 vs the tt z32 for wheel bearing part #'s.

Then compare to q45.

Maybe the 96 bearing for the q45 they gave you is for a 97q45 which are not the same, or you might have the weaker 97 q45 rear with j30 axles and not the the pre96 setup with z32tt axles.

Count how many splines are on the hub. If its pre 96 it should have 30 splines on the hub. A 240sx has 29

there should be a vin number somewhere on the rear end and that will tell you all you need to know
