Altima Fans on S14
Curious if anybody has swapped out the clutch fan on the S14 and replaced them with the electric Altima fans.
I'm curious cause i've got a set that i've come across and if they're sufficient, i'll swap em. Anybody have any experience with this situation? |

well good then 420, you'll be able to shed some light since you've seen this thread tossed around so much. I'm looking for a clearance photo & mounting compatibility with the stock radiator.
If you've got one, great. Let's see it. |

I took some photos of my s13 but haven't uploaded them yet. Check the thread in my sig for some good wiring info. Also this topic (altima efan swap) IS discussed fairly regularly (at least on a weekly basis) here, you must not have searched very hard for your answers..
I don't know about the s14 but on my s13: The fans are a little too wide to slide between the frame rails. You'll need to dremel the edges and remove a good 1/4" or more of material from both sides. It'll be pretty obvious when you get the fans and try to install them... The fuel evap canister near the driver headlight will probably give you some problems, you can remove it or work around it. Obviously you'll need to remove the upper radiator hose to get the fans in. The fans are fairly compatible with our radiators, but you'll probably end up using zip ties on each corner to keep the fans in place. Get them as close as you can to the radiator, if you have any gap between them and the fins you will lose cooling ability and possibly have overheating issues. Also be sure to "burp" your cooling system properly after refilling... Search for threads with 'fans' and you'll find all the details you need. http://www.zilvia.net/f/search.php?searchid=470407 GL |

RobtheChef , from FA and the amaraok list, did a write up on these several years ago. I believe there is a install write up on it on 240sx.org. either that or www.socal240sx.org
