sr20 swap runs with no ecu fuse?

I have a 94 vert I just swapped an s13 blacktop into. The harness and everything was already done by the previous owner. I swapped everything in and it runs great. But when shutting the key off I got the buzzing egi relay?? Well I searched this as much as I could and found if you pull the meter fuse I get no buzzing. Well most of the things on the meter circuit come from the ecu right? So I pulled the ecu fuse, and figured it wouldn't start...I was wrong it starts runs great, and my wiring gremlins are gone. Anyone ever ran into this before?

Thanks and happy Easter!

So would you assume that the ecu power is hooked up directly to the battery? I'm not great with wiring but I'm going to try and work through it

I Don't know specifically for SR's but I'd think that the ecu gets power not directly from the battery but through the relays that switch it on and off when you turn the ignition on / off

although the ecu should have a costant power for ecu memory, but I don't know if that would actually run the ecu.. maybe.

I know my mazda will use the constant "memory" power as a back up if it gets no power anywhere else. but that's a 2011 car lol.
