S14 LCA on S13

Hey guys,

I've been searching on this forum and just want some clarification. I will be running a s14 LCA on my s13 hatch to be able to add more camber upfront. I know I have to use a s13 Ball joint on the s14 LCA but my question is, can i keep my stock s13 tie rods? if not, what do you guys recommend? I know some people use s14 outers and maxima inners, and if i do decide to run that set up, what year maxima inners do i get?

Thank you in advance,

Shant

I would upgrade to s14 units, I used s14 inner and outer with no issues. s14 lca on s13.
Are you using any rack spacers/extenders?

Nope, i have bone stock s13 tie rods and front end minus the 5 lug conversion and aftermarket tension rods.

Now can i use the s13 tie rods for now? or they will end up being too short since s14 LCA are a tad bit longer.

Thanks for the help man

I believe they might be too short, or if the outer and inner engage, you wont have many threads of engagement to be safe with. I would upgrade for sure.

S13 ball joints don't really fit in the S14 FLCA correct, they may have enough mechanical bond to not fall the fuck out, but they are not seated correctly (S14 seat is larger than S13). Aftermarket $25 set of arms from rock auto are a gamble for tolerances so I can't help you there; I only mess with OE johnnies.

As for tie rods, I'm running s13 inners and outers still on my S14 FLCA and knuckle setup, plenty of thread. The TRE taper is the same between the s13 and s14 so it will mount correctly to the knuckle. Just utilize S14 inner/outer as there a bit stronger and meant for that length of FLCA anyways; I used mine before they were still good but plan to do the same.
