Hey, don't feel bad. When I was 17, I lost my license untill I was 18 (9 months ago). I think I got 6 or so between 17 and 18. 2 Before 17. And 2 after 18. So I am at / around 10 tickets. All speeding. Then an accident "Failure to use due care" ticket, a couple running stop sign tickets, red light tickets, and 2 nice cops who instead of giving me a speeding ticket, gave me a "Failure to obey traffic control device" (which was the speed limit sign )
And the ever popular 4 sound violation tickets. Dont feel bad man. As long as there are testicles on the driver's seat, there will be tickets. -Jeff Edit: For future reference, I do not condone speeding. My driving record has lost me many jobs. Used car salesman, Insurance sales guy, and numerous pizza delivery jobs. (Edited by Jeff240sx at 7:12 pm on Aug. 31, 2001) |

1 ticket when i was 16 - $100
1 photo-radar ticket, still challenging - $115 1 excessive speeding (oops, doing 103) - $345, got it reduced to $115 luckily no big tickets. I've got a few friends with tickets over $800, and one who lost his licence for 2 years (he hit a cop who was trying to stop him) Lesson learned, only speed on streets that you know cops don't frequent. Also, never tailgate. I've had 2 guys hit me and they both got massive tickets for following too close |

oh boy let me tell you my story. im on this highway in miami about 2:00am no one on the road for miles. ive gone pretty fast in my car but this is my record so far. 167 in a 75. worst part was i didnt see the cops. a fuckin helicopter had to stop my ass. he shined his light on my car and when i look up i saw it so i figured i was in trouble. so naturally i pull over to aviod any more reason for a fuck up. as soon as i stop the cops rush me and pull me outa the car and hadcuff me. That shit hurt too. anyway to put a long story short i made a friend called bubba, got a 1500 dollar speeding ticket and had 24 hrs of traffic school assinged.

Ive gotten 3 speeding tickets, none of them for actuall speeding. 51 in a 35 and crap like that. Where you are driving down a 4 lane rd and the speed limit magically changes from 45 to 35 but you miss the sign and BAM they got you. Sore subject
Its funny though cause for one of the tickets, I had previously been racing a vette across the Howard Frankllin Bridge (trying to keep up actually) and had hit about 110 and drove through the break-down lane several times to pass other cars.... so I get off the bridge and slow down and then get the ticket. So I am thinking "Officer its a good thing you didnt see what I was doing a few minutes ago, if you think this was speeding LOL" BTW, Minime686, what the #### were you driving at 167mph in? My god that is fast! |

i've had NONE!... of course,, i've only had this car for 2 weeks and i'm already finding myself exceding the speedlimit obsessively.. not by a tone,, but enough to get a ticket.. 60 in 35 and 45's.. 75-80 on the highway... etc. etc... i only hope i can contain myself... u c the real problem is.. 5 gear pulls harder from 75 to 80 then it does from 60 to 65... i wonder how it pulls when u get up to 95?.. hmmmmm... someone tell me so i dont' have to figure it out msyelf

Definately. Speed limits should be ranged... sports cars should be allowed to go faster. I mean.. a speed limit is only there for the big suv's that tip over at 25 miles per hour on a small curve right?
oh, btw... I don't have any speeding tickets yet. Why that is, i'm not sure... The fastest I've gone in my car is 100, and Yeah, 5th gear pulls pretty well then unfortunately, I had to slow down cuz a friend of mine in the back seat freaked when the sunroof started whistling. *rolls eyes* (Edited by transient at 7:39 am on Sep. 2, 2001) |

3 in the last year, but nothing major. 62 in a 45 and others similar. I usually drive fast when everyone else is too, like this one time that Civic Si was doing like 100+mph on the way home from Tampa and I decided to follow him for a couple miles doing around 100-110 for about a minute or so. This wasn't racing, at least not for me, don't know what the other driver was thinking... But its cool how nice the engine goes/sounds at that kind of speed

I've been stopped 3 times in my life, but I never got a ticket. I've been lucky I got stop on the way to daytona on I-10 Going 97 in a 70 in my blazer. 2 fucking idiot redneck cops from madison county the made me, and my gf get out of the truck and he kept asking if I was drunk or had any drugs. I have my truck all done up lowered, wheels, system you name it. He was asking if any of it was stolen, and shit. Pissed me off. Then he let me go with a warning. Another time was for doing doughnuts in the parking lot of my old dorm that also was in the truck. The cop just walked up, and knocked my window! The last time was in my gf's car because her license plate light was out!

On the subject, one of the coolest chicks I've ever met was at a courthouse in New York state. I live in NJ myself, but I got a ticket on my way to Conn., so I had to go up there for court. Outside the courtroom, there were people sitting everyplace, but there was cute girl on the steps, so even though I had no intentions of talking to her, I sat down next to her anyway - you wouldn't?
Anyway, I was sitting there for about a minute, and she turns to me. The first words out of her mouth were "So, how fast were you going?" I told her, and things went on from there. While waiting our respective turns, we talked for hours, and that was the last I heard from her, but still, it was #### cool. The offense was for 87 in a 55, and it was far from my first. I've received several speeding tickets, but my highest prosecuted offense was 108 in a 55. While on the subject, I've had my license suspended four times. Anyway, just thought I'd join in, because certainly more than intake this or exhaust that, getting f'd by the law is certainly my speciality. |

I've been pulled over twice. Once for passing in a no passing area and speeding. It was a straightaway and there were no painted lines in the road and no posted speed limit. The cop was out of precinct/county so he couldn't give me a ticket anyway. The other time was doing about 65 in a 30. We met in a curve so he didn't get a reading. Still no ticket. Then I get a ticket at a road block for an expired license plate I forgot about.

I have a collection of parking tickets-every single penalty imaginable. I live in Chicago, right by the Lake, so it's impossible to find parking after 60PM. Anyway, I've never been pulled over, but have sped past cops once. They stopped right next to me at the next light and asked me if I had been speeding in that "you naughty little girl" voice. And of course, I played all cute and innocent and said "Nooooo" so they laughed and told me to be careful. I guess being an OK-looking 19-year-old female helps. It's hard not to speed with our cars, seriously!

I only have one. $100 Canadian. Little radar trap outside my work. Open road, no traffic, what do you expect. I was 90km in a 50 zone.
But I did drive by a radar trap going 160km/h in an 80 zone, but the cops were just setting up and didn't see me. I believe the horse shoe I shoved up my ass that morning did me some good. |

i guess i am lucky. never had a speeding ticket, red light ticked, or any ticket at all. And i race all the time, Speed all the time. But of course i always watch my surroundings. Been driving for 7 years and have been racing in the lovely san diego area for 7 years. Racing is so fun.

So far 2 speeding tickets. 55 on 40. And the second one, I actually went like 100 on a 50, but the cop didn't clock me, he paced me at 90, I was on the service road, and he was on the highway. I didn't see him, but he said he nearly killed himself to get to me, had to cross the median in what was rush hour in the morning, the service road was empty, so that's why i took it. He was so pissed, started yelling at me, what my problem was. Anyways, I told him if he clocked me and he said no, but he paced me at 90. I said, no way, I don't think I went 90. I said you don't have proof I went 90, and he said some b.s. like his speedometer was certified at pacing. I refused that I went 90, and he left went to the car, came back and asked me how fast do I think I was going. I said 65, and he said bullshit, and we negotiated at 70 on a 50. Atleast the judge let me pay it off and not let it get on my record. Fine was like $175 or something. I knew the cop didn't clock me, cause my radar did not go off. Everytime a cop clocks me, my radar does go off.
