Figuring out what the FSM is telling me HUD disply wiring problem.
Ok so I need to figure out what this FSM is telling me. I'm building a S13 race car and I'm swapping in my HUD unit from my original car. I only really want/need the digi speedo, fuel gauge, and tack to light up and work. Now here comes the questions and information on how to read my arrows. Keep in mind the car is getting wired via painless wiring kit and everything under the dash is gone. Its a pet pev of mind to get this HUD display up and running in this car even though I know it would be easier just to run a tack and a autozone crap fuel gauge. Purple arrows- indicate the wires that I know for sure I need to keep and run from the speed sensor and fuel sender. Red arrows- I think these are only for illumination/power to the cluster so should I connect these wires to the dimmer switch and just have a 12v power source going to the dimmer and use that to power everything? If this is not what Illum CTRL SW means please tell me what it does mean and what it expects from me to give it. green arrows- Whats it talking about when stating fuse X? The most important one to me is the fuse B(17) which seems to be the tack signal but I'm not sure what it means by fuse B. It also seems the tack is connected to 8 which is a illum ctrl sw(which I think runs the lights for it) and the signal coming from fuse b actually runs the needle... correct? grounds- I'm just going to ground everyone that is listed whether I think it needs it or not. I have searched and have done a some leg work of getting the FSM picture in here. There are a lot of threads about the HUD display but none of them have any real information in them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |

If anyone is interested(doesn't seem like it) I'll go ahead and answer my own question on the off chance this will be helpful to someone at a later date.
purple- I was correct however 24 is just to the fuel low light that I won't be hooking it up. red- correct I'm running all of them off of the dimmer or hard wire 12v for always max brightness. green- also a 12v power source that I'll run off of one fuse in the race car. connect all the grounds and signal wires and bam race car with working HUD. |
