Brembo vs Wilwood bbk?
Hello, I'm deciding upon a bbk to use for auto-x and weekend warrior track use to replace my RPS13 front brakes. Which is better (other than Z32 brakes in the front)?

Either of them are good, but if you are serious about racing, you will need to be able to adjust them.
and yeah, don't leave the back alone. If you get massive brakes like Stoptech in the front, you will lock the front, and your back end will want to kick out. Dangerous.

I'm already part hunting for Z32 rears. Already got e-brake assembly with cables attached from a '93 300zx 2+2. Now I'm hunting for calipers on junk yards and then rebuild them.

auto cross usually does not exceed 2nd gear speeds. i don`t think you need to upgrade to more than high performance pads and rotors with silicone brake fluid. also, a bbk will give you more unsprung weight due to larger rotors and may cause you more acceleration time. also they require 17 inch wheels. 16 or even 15 inch wheels are probably better for auto cross.

Personally, get Z32 rears and BMC, then slap some R33 brakes up front. Then slap some Hawk pads and be done with it. Even that is more than enough to lock the wheels on a lighter S13.

2/Expensive 3/Old and used i went wilwood a long time ago. for the price of a Z32 brake disc, you get a pair of wilwood discs. Same goes for the brake pads, you get 2 sets for less than 100$, and wilwood brake pads are usually twice as thick as other manufacturers. As for the weight, a pair of wilwoods weights less than ONE z32 front caliper. My current polymatrix brake pads are half used ... and they still have more life left than my brand new ebc yellowstuff (which are crappy pads, dont use them, mine went straight to the bin after a couple of weeks) |

Yeah, I know, I just bought wilwoods lol
But aluminum z32 brakes aren't *that* heavy, but yeah the rotor is. And rebuild kits are cheap and easy. For autox I don't think it's 100% worth it just for the weight, unless you're planning on winning Street Mod. |

Glad I found this thread, I have been doing research on Brake upgrades, without going BBK, I am using low disk wheels, and cant go bbk route..
I saw the wilwood option, but still not sure if it would clear low disk leon hardritt ordens.... another thing I have been wanting to look into is the double caliper option, my friend is doing it to the rear of his Is300 and I really like the idea. I still haven't seen it done to a 240 yet though btw there is already a brake swap thread, this one should merge with that one: http://zilvia.net/f/chat/431549-brak...ml#post4499515
