14th Annual Nismo Festival @ Fuji Speedway 12-2011
14th year in running, 5th year in attendance for myself. Never get bored of this event, just wish it was more than just one day. Either way, 10 times better than any Toyota motor sports festival and that’s just the truth!
As with years in the past, Nismo had an awesome showing of machinery, from old to new. Most important to start off with is the scenery. That massive mountain in the back drop can’t be missed, always staring down at you. As many probably don’t know, the Leaf is doing quite well as a production car. But on the racing DNA of this machine comes an one off race car. Future plans are to turn this idea into a one make race series. Interesting concept, certain it will pan out real soon. Complete with a single charge system. Good friend J.P Oliviera had the pleasure of running the world champion ship GT-R yesterday in the wet. Car looks spot on, even like the idea of smaller 17” wheels. And in GT500 form, the real deal. One of the most highly engineered race cars in existence. Indoor paddock had many more past to present machinery as well Can’t forget these either. Group A goodness! |

More..........
Into the manufacturers midway there was again a great array of demo cars on hand. Not many new products either. Skyline market is quite tapped tbh.
R31 House showing their 2010 car again. Noticeable updates would be the BNR34 Bremebo’s and front canards. Midori with two 32R’s on hand. Showing all sorts of products including their new Titanium tower bar. GB to start soon on a forum near you… Here is Mrs. Uchinaga, one of the nicest people you will meet in the tuning shop business. Strange Drive at in again with these hybrid conversions. This year showing a DR30 with ER34 Neo running gear. These cats need no introduction Nor do this lot From Cockpit Wako’s, with a great looking BNR32. Impul on Juke Fever. Not sure who this near original BNR34 belonged too, was parked in front a plain tent booth showing Garret products. Don’t think GCG… Ray’s with these anodized finish wheels, atleast the top one is. And the recently introduced TE37V’s in 17” And finally, last but not least, from Nismo Omori, their street spec BNR34. Must have one of these too stuffed inside… |
