SR20DET Turbo upgrade questions
So my t25 decided to quit on me and I have decided to go with a different turbo and make some more power.
I was thinking about getting the Tomei Arms m8270 or the m7960. I just wanted to ask if anyone runs them but with a stock head (no cams mostly) I have been looking all over and everyone I come across has cams or fully built bottom end. I'm not trying to make very much 325 max. If anyone can help it is greatly appreciated! |

The good thing about the TOMEI is that it's not a BB turbo, so it's rebuildable. The price difference of the 2 will allow for $$ to do basic fuel management and injector upgrades. GL, do some searching on other SR forums as well.

If you're looking for 325 max dont get either. The 7960 is a 20g and the 8270 is a 60-1.
If you think you might want a bit more than 325 but not a lot more get the 20g.

Standard garret gear but will make as much power as a 2871R (usually more) and if you keep the stock IM it will spool up faster. Vids on my site of a car with this setup. Made insane HP with just drop in 264 step 1 HKS cams, FMIC, PFC with one of the maps I did for it and a 50 trim. We did 330 whp on a dyno dynamics with no lag at only 1 bar...
